lol ppl keep coming back to the drivers, but those who have the issue have tried most drivers from 158.45 to 163.11.
yes, i've tried every release and have had the same results.
the only difference is my error code after reinstalling every piece of software on my system.
the game still will not start.

Sigh tis a sad story. Is their any actual capcom technical support members on this thread. I'm still amazed that at the games official forum no one can come up with an answer to the issue, or atleast diagnose it. I will continue to be amazed until (and thats an if) it gets fixed..

I have the same issue, crash at start, with dx9 and all nvidia drivers beta and official tested.
windows XP
athlon 2 Ghz
MSI K7NForce 2 delta
2 Go ram
6600 GT 128/7800 GS 512
Solution ??? a patch ??

it wouldn't make a difference. I just downloaded lost planet/steam on my secondary computer which has the following specs;
Asus A8N32-SLI deluxe
X2 3800+ @ 2.9Ghz
2GB g.Skill HZ PC4000 @ 255Mhz
2x7900GS's in SLI @ 600/1.18GHz
250GB Maxtor Diamondmax 10
Xclio 500w SLI certified PSU.
and guess what? Same thing happened.
both of these computers are complete beasts and there's no reason they shouldn't be able to run it. something is bugged with steam/lost planet/digital distribution.
possibly a corrupt file on the steam servers.
seriously the ONLY thing i can think of.

A lot of users have this issue. I also know around steam forums the issue is sighted or posted a lot..., so it's definately out their. Just know one is doing anything about it...

I'm having a similar problem with my machine to. I have the demo version (want to make sure it works first) and it won't run on mine. It crashes the second you start the game. It's instant the once you click on the icon to start the game. It does it both the dx10 and dx9 versions (though i know i should only be able to run the dx9 one)

Hi all, i got the same problem @ startup, so i was looking for an solution for ATI cards. (sorry for my bad englisch) Here are my specs. AMD 4400 X2 / 2 Gb ram OCZ pc 4000 / Sapphire HD 2900 XT / HD W.D. raptor Install the ATI Hotfix xp 32. And game on. http://support.ati.com/ics/support/defa … onID=28188it got som explanation for crossfire but it workt for me. Grtz to u all.
