I need everyone to post their DXDIAG please. I need to find the common ground between you guys on this crash, in order to isolate the cause. I have a Vista Ultimate machine, and I do not experience the crash.

Again Lost, this is not just on Vista "Ultimate". It happened on my Vista64 Home premium as well. A reinstall of the os cured it. But that's not something you want your customer base to have to do. :)
There's definitely a conflict. Just have to isolate it now....which is a pain, as everyone's hardware and software is all over the map.

Thanks, but i've already tried this and went above and beyond (cleared the registry of every single thing i could find with Lost Planet in the name)

there is something wrong with either the game or steam, and the issue isn't going to be fixed until a dev looks into things i think.
The game crashes immediately on startup, there is no delay or pause or anything, and this is on a brand new Vista Home premium install with fresh drivers.
Really sucks too, because it's a great game and i'd really like to finish it.

Only thing imo that will fix this is a patch, and even in the next patch that might be in gods know when.., I still think the issue wont be fixed. We already spent our money so it's no loss on them.
I find it incredible that no dev has even identified this prob yet or fixed it....

The developers should have been more future oriented! The should have known that more and more people have 4gig or more in their system with the current development in hardware, and therefore have x64 based systems.
So please dev people. take some responsability an fix this problem (tards!!)
