I believe that these need to be toned down. They're too popular for a reason. They're just as powerful as the Rocket Launcher, but they shoot just as fast, if not faster, and they're silent upon firing. Plus the SP has a wide spread and the Plasma Cannon practically blinds you if you're too close. Also, there's absolutely no reload time. These are the obvious choices for a heavy weapons match, whether abilities are turned on or not. I think that it should take two hits from either of these weapons to kill someone, because relativistically speaking, the Plasma Gun takes three shots to kill you as opposed to two shots from the Rifle, and it takes about five Plasma Grenades to kill someone. Why should the Plasma Cannon and Plasma Cannon SP have that much of an advantage making my favorite weapon, the original LP1 Rocket Launcher, completely obsolete?
Please, share your input on what I feel is a crucial topic to making LP2 online multiplayer better.

Have you tried the Plasma Cannon or the Plasma Cannon SP for yourself? You might like the difference in handling, the lack of recoil, the absence of reload time and the sheer hotness of said weapon. The Rocket Launcher reminds me of an elderly woman crossing the street during rush hour in a rain storm. The time needed for the reload is more or less a one-way ticket to Respawnsville.

I enjoy walks along the beach at night and watching Hand Cannon SP victims try to roll out of a direct hit :P
There is no "I" in Team; there is, however, an 'M' and an 'E'.

I find them no different than rocket launchers. They can easily be rolled.

I think you like to complain Norcal, perhaps if you did something different other then complain in every topic ive read from you i would be more willing to listen. but your not so neither am i. I honestly would like it if all weapons went too t-eng usage, i think the game would be much more intresting and overall a better game. t-eng weapons have infinite ammo as long as you keep your t-eng guage up, this means that places in multiplayer and campaign like data-posts and t-eng nubs are very important. if enemies and Vs's dropped more t-eng this would give people extra incintive to attack and retrieve t-eng from enemies. a game mode that consists of nothing but t-eng type weapons. the rapid fire PlasmaGunSP would be the new machinegun. the PlasmaGun would be the new sniper, and the PlasmaCannon would be the new Heavy, as well as EnergyGun could be secondary choice for PlasmaGunSP. this would bring the focus back onto t-eng which i believe is a absolutly necessary gameplay mechanic in the LostPlanet series, but take away the t-eng dependency on life (you dont die if you run out of t-eng you just cant shoot your weapons).

Listen *********, stick to the topic. You said absolutely nothing useful or helpful. From what you've said, you like being a little plasma *****. Whatever, good for you, I really don't care. Every time you post in any of my threads, you have nothing to say except that I complain. I'm trying to help make this game better and you can't do anything except COMPLAIN about everything I have to say. Express your thoughts, fine, that's what a forum is for, but stick to things that relate to the game. Sorry, there's no downloadable patch to change who I am to fit your needs. I'm asking about people's opinions and opinions can't be right nor wrong, they're opinions. So stop attacking my character and perceiving every single post from me as "complaining" because I'm not. I'm trying to help make the game better and you're just trying to cut down every single attempt. This isn't politics so stop trying to cut me down. If you have nothing to say about the game to try to make it better or to help other people, then stay the hell out of the forums. I'd suggest you calm down, please. - Deaco

There is technically a reload time with those weapons. If you fire them constantly they'll overheat, and you're unable to fire until the weapon cools down. Ammo is obviously infinite until you run out of T-energy, and frankly killing people for t-energy is not much diffirent than picking up the ammo they've dropped. Going for posts for energy means less time spent killing. Use roll better in combat. Rolling is there for a reason. And honestly, I have to agree that it seems like you've never posted a kind word about this game.

The plasma cannon, and sp only kills me if I didn't see the user or if I miss timed my roll. Both plasma cannons are WAAYY easier to dodge than the standard rocket launcher, or rocket launcher sp. You can literally stand there, watch the plasma cannon shot come to you and safely roll out the way. Same goes for the sp, and since the shots have now been widen, dodging it is a piece of cake, unless they are kinda close then it becomes a hassle trying to kill them and react to the shots.

the plasma cannons use 500-600 thermal energy per shot, which gives you about 3 shots upon spawning before running low, and their reload is the cooldown period after firing one they're fine as is

Plasma cannons are one the most underpowered weapons in this game. I tried it for a while and it could barely kill anyone. It took me like 4 shots to down an enemy and thats pretty much the shots you could use. And they never rolled or anything. I kept knocking him back on the ground and stilll they don't die in one shot.

I'm not sure if you're talking about me or Kaos. There really haven't been any LP2 love threads that I've seen, and even then, the purpose of forums aren't to praise things, they're to criticize to try to help make things better. I'm a forum mod for Entercast and never once did I see a thread praising anything, it was always complaining about someone, complaining about something with the apps, helping others understand the apps, bugs/glitches, or suggestions on how to make them better. I think I praise the game enough by wearing the t-shirt and having a poster of it in my room, not to mention playing it like crazy. I'm giving it the respect it deserves by posting anything in here, let alone as much as I do, as well as helping generate traffic to this site.
