Yes - It's default, because the developers needed something to put there as the default weapon. A standard Rocket Launcher probably seemed to be the most obvious choice.

A default weapon should serve as the most versatile weapon, capable of being, at the very least, useful in many different situations. If anything, it should at least be able to hold it's ground when up against other types of weapons from the same class. As it is now, it's just a place-holder until you can get a different weapon to take it's place, which shouldn't be the reason for having it.

No offense taken.

The point of unlocking new weapons despite them being perfectly balanced with the starter weapons would all be based on personal preference. I prefer the energy gun over the energy gun SP, the original plasma gun over any rifle, and I would be using the rocket launcher if it even stood a chance against hand cannons and plasma cannons, but it doesn't. It's not nearly as smooth as those weapons. It's more of a pain being stuck with it than anything in a heavy weapons match.

Dude ROCKET LAUNCHERS ARE DEFAULT WEAPONS FOR A REASON.

Wrong thread.

This one's about being on fire, though All of NOrcal's complaints could be put into one thread.

I'm just replying to what others have posted. Posted a reply to, basically, the same message in the other thread, though.

ok if your all for making the game better why didn't you call for fire to actually do some damage before pacth? you complain now because it affects your game style.

you haven't even compared the weapons to others of there class. i don't think those who complain about this stuff have ever used it since people have posted about being chased by a flamethrower which is not possible unless the chaser has death wish since he will be set on fire. flamethrowers are for use in choke points to halt the other teams advance. also its a close range weapon if you get that close you will of course die like getting close to any other close range weapon.

incendary grenades are one of the easiest grenades to surive. 4 rolls, jumps or water put it out this is not unfair since it does not paralayze you like plasma nades which will lead to death. plus they can't be used close up because that wpuld set themselves on fire. you can't complain about something when unlike other weapons of its class it gives you a chance to surive because thats just pathetic.

also what would you do to flame based damage have it go back to the way it was before the pacth? where it did about as much damage as a strong gust of wind. which made incendary grenades and flamethrowers unusable.

There's strafing, jumping, circling, and special guard which do allow you to be chased by a flamethrower. Plus if someone hits you by surprise at close range with it, you're stunned and dead within the second with literally no time to react. Even if you manage to get away from the guy, you're on fire and 4 rolls practically kills you.

I didn't call for a boost to the flamethrower because it's a new weapon that I cared nothing for. It was great in campaign, tried it in multiplayer, and it didn't work for me. Then the patch came out and it got ridiculously boosted. Okay fine, keep the damage, whatever, but the fire effect needs to be toned down or easier to roll off. And when you're rolling it off, it shouldn't burn faster at the end of your roll, it should get weaker as you roll. Makes sense, right? That's what the post is about, being on fire, hence the title.

I'm pretty sure that the Flame Thrower, along with the Hand Cannon were Colonies weapons.

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...
