ok I think I figured out a better way to describe it, I'll use a couple of different series that I like: In Kingdom hearts you start with the Kingdom Key and once you unlock a better keyblade (for example Oblivion or Ultima Keyblade) you pick that one. Now for another game...Zelda, you usually start with the most basic sword till you unlock the more powerful master sword so you pick that one. how about a capcom game.....Monster Hunter? I have never played but I assume you start out with little or no Armor and once you unlock something better (like the rathalos armor) you equip that one if everything were balanced and the same what would be the point of unlocking anything. Ok I think I got my point better explained then my previous post. And again this is just my opinion.

No offense taken. The point of unlocking new weapons despite them being perfectly balanced with the starter weapons would all be based on personal preference. I prefer the energy gun over the energy gun SP, the original plasma gun over any rifle, and I would be using the rocket launcher if it even stood a chance against hand cannons and plasma cannons, but it doesn't. It's not nearly as smooth as those weapons. It's more of a pain being stuck with it than anything in a heavy weapons match.

The weapon options don't need to be imbalanced to promote variety. Each weapon has a purpose and playstyle. While I loved my grapefruits (Normal I grenades), the Incendiaries everyone hates so much serves a purpose to my playstyle. If I hit the person with it, they have two options: 1) Leave me alone and roll off the fire, giving me time to space myself and think up a new strategy or 2) Try to kill me and die in the process. If I'm being chased by a group, I tend to throw it behind me and let the wall of fire hold them off a little.
Same goes for Dummy III and Balloons. Both are good for locking down corridors. Dummy III is far better at racking up kills in the process, but they can be eliminated easily, so it's mostly used for suppression with the aid of your own gunfire. Balloons can lock down a hall without too much worry of the enemy passing, but they don't move or sweep, so it's more suited to trapping.
Both are just as effective as the other, but more suited to different playstyles.

I'm raising a valid argument which several people agree with me on this topic. I'm bringing up things that I feel should be changed. I don't remember everyone saying that Obama needs to stop complaining about the country and just accept things the way they are. No, he was DEBATING that things need to be changed. Simple as that. And guess what, HE WON! You people are just afraid of change so you need to cut me down, at least that's MY perception of YOU.
You are now comparing a man who spent a ton of money to tell everyone why he would be awesome running a country who is now dealing with both an economic and envrionmental situtation affecting the lives of everyday people and some animals to that of a minor video game annoyance that ends up killing your fictional character which can be avoided by not constantly running headfirst into enemy gunfire. Bravo.

Actually, to play the game, the Armor is just an extension of your skills, you wear the armor to best suit the Monster your are looking to face. Its an afterthought after that as no armor makes you unstoppable. After taking a Hand Cannon SP into a Heavy Weapons Match stupidly for the Noms De Gurre, I'll take my Rocket Launcher SP or even the Rocket Launcher I over Hand Cannons and Plasma Cannons any day. Those weapons just don't work in my favor. However after using them, I learned how they work and from experience of playing with those skilled with it, I know how to counter those weapons for the most part. In other words, I played the game, I learned, I adapted, I corrected the techniques I had used with my personal heavy weapon of choice. I may not succeed every time but surely I won't go down without fighting first.
Support NEVEC in MVC3!Click Here![Currently Playing: BFBC2, LP2, MHTri] The Rebellion Army owns you now... My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

Bravo.
I'm trying to bring about a change to a video game which some people don't agree with. He was trying to bring about a change to a country which some people didn't agree with. He spent millions, I spent $110. The money doesn't matter, and it also doesn't matter that his issues are bigger. It was a comparison that everyone could easily understand because apparently, things need to be spelled out for over half the people in here.

People likely do understand what you're getting at. They just don't agree for the most part. If they aren't agreeing with you, maybe that in itself should tell you something. Why are you trying to being about the change? Make it easier on yourself? Make it easier period? Maybe the game doesn't -need- to be easier? Your opinion is your opinion, but don't act like it's the truth. I've survived incendiary grenades, and I'll be the first to say it, my skills are mediocre at best. It's not that hard to survive them. The blast/explosion does more damage than the fire as far as I've seen. Flamethrowers? Well, if you want them nerfed I'd like to see a list of pros and cons of other short range weapons to show me how well you understand the balance of them as they stand.

Dude ROCKET LAUNCHERS ARE DEFAULT WEAPONS FOR A REASON.

Yes - It's default, because the developers needed something to put there as the default weapon. A standard Rocket Launcher probably seemed to be the most obvious choice.
A default weapon should serve as the most versatile weapon, capable of being, at the very least, useful in many different situations. If anything, it should at least be able to hold it's ground when up against other types of weapons from the same class. As it is now, it's just a place-holder until you can get a different weapon to take it's place, which shouldn't be the reason for having it.
