I don't get it. Someones trying to tell me to grapple onto a wall when theres 4 energy gun shots speeding on to me before I'm even able to get on the wall properly. And me trying to out roll it? Thats like a Lost Planet  circus. Seeing this guy  trying to outroll 4 energy gun shots o.O. Anyways, I wasn't saying the energy gun was overpowred. I was merely saying that, at this rate everybody will have them. Plus, I was just saying a month later everybody will have all these special weapons and awesome charcter parts by doing 5-3. Needs to be patched up now. Just saying guys.

Just finished hosting and playing about 10-12 games of VS Anahilation and found some interesting results. This was also with VS Mastery II, sometimes VS leader sometimes Not.

Flames do damage through VS Mastery II now, previously didnt. Energy Gun stuns like crap in, and massive damage lots. Repeatedly people just kept rolling while charging and using the charged shot every time. Without VS Mastery II you can easily be stuck in a perma stun lock for a long time till the other team dies, screws up, or run out of energy. Even with VS Mastery II 2 or more with just Energy Guns can still bounce you around enough to keep you from doing much. Flames, no matter the source, do a ton of damage. By the time you roll them out, you can die to just a single bullet or two from a machinegun.

So in closing.. Anyone who thinks Energy Guns and Flames arnt overpowered, are full of crap.

The stun capabilities of the Energy Gun SP are ridiculous, but they really don't do that much damage (not sure about the damage to VS's). The regular energy gun takes three fully charged shots to kill someone so it's definitely not overpowered. Fire damage is completely ridiculous. One little touch of fire and you already know you're doomed unless there's water around. How are you supposed to escape from someone hasing you with a flamethrower and then try to roll off the flames without dying? Next to impossible. Not to mention, it's really hard to see where to shoot someone when the have flames blaring in your face.

Best chance is hope you see the person with a flamethrower coming and just run nonstop like a benny hill skit till someone kills them. :\

My ego is too big for me to run away haha. Perhaps if they removed the stun factor from the flamethrower, it'd be easier to counter.

Or they actually pay attention and don't die to the crap often. Energy Guns never kill me, unless I'm getting blindsided by it... but then, if I didn't see the attack coming, it really wouldn't matter which weapon it was, would it?

Flames really aren't that potent. It takes a while to kill anyone with the burn damage alone. They can manage about 1/4 of your health (MAYBE 1/3), if you take the time to roll it off. I survived TWO incendiary grenades that managed to ignite me. I took the explosion damage from the first and rolled the second... but both times, I was on fire and survived with more than enough health to kill two people before I went down.

I definitely agree that Flamethrowers hurt a lot... but their range is so crappy it doesn't matter. Stop running into enemies' faces and the chances of you getting burned alive are pretty slim.

You can say I'm full of crap all you want, but then I'd have to say it sounds like a lot of people new to LP (or people who weren't all that good at the first game) are complaining about things that are easily avoidable.

After the patch, Flamelaunchers are actually useable and not a joke. They don't kill as quick as shotties in OHK range, but its still effective. The only drawback is you can't really advance foward while holding the trigger or you'll risk setting yourself on fire. FL users have to be stationary or circle strafe.

What game are you playing? They can easily snap off at least half of your health in this game, even when you take the time to roll it off. Trust me, I've lit myself up more than enough to realize this. That's not even counting what the incoming bullets would do to you with the counter damage from the rolling.

As for those two Incendiary Grenades that you supposedly survived, I'm guessing that lag had something to do with it. The blast damage alone should take off a nice chunk of your health, and unless you have Special Guard (II) equipped, the flame damage should finish you off quickly. If you're in a high-combat area, you wouldn't even get the chance to attempt to roll it off, either.

haha I stopped trying to roll it off especially in high combat areas I just throw gernades everywhere then I can usually get 1-2 kills before going down. this is when I have busters with any other type of gernade I'm lucky to get one kill
