Believe it or not, but the Energy Gun was designed specifically to be a bigger pain to VS pilots...

Also: You may not agree, but I'm glad that nothing can counter it without a chance of failure. A skill should not make a weapon obsolete.

It does need to be toned down, just the damage though. You can jump twice and it usualy puts out the fire.

VS Mastery II and Special Guard II make all Flame and Plasma weapons obsolete. So why not energy? :P

Coz it'd break the game when the only thing that can counter a VS is raw damage which is stupid considering the damage output of a VS compared to a person on the ground, nevermind the rest of the advantages. It's as simple as that, IMO. I'm certainly not blind to the obviousness of this.

It's bad enough people already hate VS junkies that only pilot VSes for easy kills.

I don't believe I said that I was okay with those, either.

Right now Energy Guns seem like a crutch and easy win weapon. Sure you can outroll it but not always. And I have a hell of a lot more fun taking out a VS like someone with actual decent skill than relying on ejecting. :P
Going for the weakpoints, comboing weapons together, harpooning onto the cockpit and firing into the pilot's face, etc.

If you havent noticed the sudden large rise of energy guns since the patch.. I wonder why? :P

If anything, I think energy guns should be boosted. They don't even come close to what energy guns were like in LP1. Machine guns, rifles, and shotguns could all easily take out energy gun wielders if you knew how to move and be evasive, and energy guns weren't even a great weapon to have in LP1 unless you were playing a rocket launcher match.

But you were also more evasive in LP1 than 2. :P

You're free to see it as a crutch weapon (SP doesn't eject pilots, at he worst it stujns a VS and does damage. It does track though.), but it's designed to be anti-VS. It's one of two weapons specefically made to eject a pilot, the other being energy disks that have poor range, and poor reliability. It took me 3, my starting lot to pop out a pilot.

As potent as your tactics may be, you have to get close to actually use them, and not all VS have exposed pilots, and not all pilots will let you get that close.

VS need a counter. They're too powerful not to, frankly. At least with fire the peron wielding it is usually soft, fleshy, and very vulnerable to a grenade blast as opposed to a flying/Hovering VS raining death from above well out of the range of anchor, and grenades save disc, and cowing standard, short, and who knows what other kind of fire if one even hits a flying, moving target. Yeah, there's famethrower equipped VS out there, but they're hardly common.

A good pilot will have a good evasive ability.

Some maps will have multiple VS working on one team, so the tactic you prescribe may be inefficient there as well.

I could go on with scenario after scenario where an Anti Vs weapon will be far more efficient, but I'll spare you that.

There's no reason to nerf a weapon to being obsolete just because of a personal preference.
