Jesse, this was a thread to get a Lost Planet character into the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom fighting game.

Despite TRisk's awesome ideas, it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen though. Even though those movesets sound awesome as hell.

Personally, I wouldn't really wanna see NEVEC, though. I'd rather see Gale Holden beating the crap out of people. The late, great burly snow pirate mercenary > generic sci-fi militaristic villain. Or if you were gonna go the NEVEC route, Bandero all the way. Out of all of the NEVEC goons, Bandero had the most personality... even if he was a douche, his flamboyant fighting style and cocky demeanor set him apart from the nameless drones under the corporation's employ.

None of this proably matters, though.

TRisk did forget to incorporate Buster Grenades into the mix, though, which kinda surprised me. Despite their lack of real practical use in online versus, the "pocket nukes" are still one of the most popular grenade types in the game. Maybe some sort of combo where you lob a Buster Grenade, anchor into somebody and zipline into them to do a combo to immobilize them, then backflip away as it goes critical and explodes.

Sure, at the time it was to show Capcom that we wanted Lost Planet to be represented (See first page). To further explain, I made this topic to bring in some community togetherness that wouldn't cause eventual flaming.

This topic was made BEFORE the confirmation of the character roster being locked (Heck, it was before the confirmation of Nathan RAD Spencer and the before Capcom's abandonment of Lost Planet 2. The Forums were flourishing quite well still.), perhaps a month or two. I pretty much said "It was great run guys, thank you for all your support in keeping this topic alive." to it, but if you want to give your ideas still to what could had been then I don't mind, I'll put it up on the front page.

EDIT- Oh I didn't see that post, thanks Feral, I'll edit my post so it refers to yours

At the time I didn't think of them, I was going on NEVEC because the have been in both games, so that counts for something. The PTX-40a pilot was left nameless, so I don't see why not with a NEVEC Soldier, heck they can retcon the Pilot as the character if they want to and I'd be fine with that. If you noticed what I was doing with handling grenades, beside the range of a Buster Grenade and it's explosion would have the be seriously nerf'd.

It works in LP2, but I doubt for MVC3

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

Seeing as your profile is set to private, no one can.

No reason not to post it here too. The more ideas the better.

EDIT: Changed a few things around.

Nevec Soldier

Quick Bio: This gun tooting soldier is a recruit in the Nevec faction of the Lost Planet Series. His multitude of futuristic weapons and technology make a formidable opponent especially at a distance.

Light: Handgun Shot (Mash for 5 shots)     Medium: Handgun Melee

Heavy: Gun sword Melee   Special: Gun Sword Launcher

Command Normals

Back Back Light:  Grenade Toss (Long range little damage)

Back Back Medium: Shuriken Grenade Toss (Wall bounce until it hits someone even the Nevec Soldier)

Back Back Heavy: Buster Grenade Toss (Goes Mid screen and leaves a little fire wall on the ground after explosion.)

Down Down Back Light: Hand Cannon Shot (Comes out fast and can damage the Nevec Soldier if it explodes near him.)

Down Down Back Heavy: Plasma Cannon SP Shot

Crouching Forward:  Dodge Roll Forward (Invincibility Frames)

Crouching Back:  Dodge Roll Backward (Invincibility Frames)

Air Dash: Jet Pack (Little bit faster than Hsien-Ko’s air dash)

Special Moves

Quarter Circle Forward: Grapple Swing (All versions are cancellable)

  1. Light Version: Grapples opponent causing momentary stun. (Combos into normals)
  2. Medium Version: Grapples right next to opponent (This version allows you to shoot while in motion)
  3. Hard Version: Grapples to opposite wall and clings to wall. Dash to cancel.

While clinging:
  • Light: Angled Handgun shot
  • Medium: Machine gun burst
  • Heavy: Charged Plasma Rifle shot

Quarter Circle Back: Shield SP: Pushes opponents back and stops all incoming projectiles. Distance pushed back determined by button pressed. (Lasts only as long as button is held.)

Full Circle Back Heavy:  Support Cannon (Consumes all hyper bars to use and the effect changes depending on the amount of bars consumed.)

  1. One Bar: Fires a beam of pure red energy. (Does half the damage of Ryu’s Shinkuu Hadoken.)
  2. Two Bars: Fires a homing ball of black energy similar to Dormammu’s Exploding Bomb. Whoever takes the last hit is automatically snapped back.
  3. Three Bars: All regular melee hits are now from a huge blue energy sword and go full screen with each swing.
  4. Four Bars: Drains both health and meter from whichever opponent is currently on point. Lasts for about 10 seconds.  (Note: if there are currently 5 bars available it will only drain four)

Assists

  1. Injection Gun Shot: (Boosts point characters damage output for about 5 seconds)
  2. Shield SP (Assist comes out pushing the opponent back and blocking all projectiles for a few seconds.)
  3. Regen field (Throws down a Regen Grenade to slowly regain Red Health but not yellow health for a few seconds as long as within range)

Hypers

Level 1: Shuriken Grenade Toss (Tosses out a bunch of shuriken grenades that bounce of the walls for about 5 seconds. Any that hit the opponent cause minor damage.)

Level 1: Heat Replenish (Slowly converts the hyper bar into red health. Ends if damage is taken that was not blocked.)

Level 1: Hidden in Plain Sight (Turns you and all assists invisible for 10 seconds. Has slow start up.)

Level 3: Hell from Above (Grabs the opponent and places a tracker on them. Depending on what button was pressed will determine how long before their hit by the satellite beam)

Quotes

Intro: Enemy sighted. Engaging with Caution.

Outro: Enemies Defeated. Proceeding to Next Area.

Intro against Dormammu: I can’t believe how much thermal energy this thing is giving off. I wonder if the Captain would like it skinned for his office.

Outro against Skrull: These akrid just keep getting uglier and uglier.

Intro against Chris: Like I’m supposed to be scared of a Snow Pirate that doesn’t even have a Harmonizer.

Outro against Sentinel: Sir, I believe I’ve just found a new type of VS. Our enemies won’t know what hit them.

Hmm, honestly, I was expecting to see more new attacks:

There would be an issue in game and that would be your normals. You have projectiles for normals, if anything I can see Capcom making the Gun Sword SP's 3 slashes being the LMH standing normals. The same was done for Zero's signature 3 slash combo he's had since X4.

If Captain America is anything to go by, Dodge Roll won't have invincibility frames, just a way to increase Rush Down combo potential.

Shield SP might go like the Hulk's Gamma Charge assist and have Super Armor but shorter range.

Regen Field would be one of those easily punished assists

All in all, touch it up some, it has potential.

No problem, hope I didn't come off as being harsh. Tried not to.
