So Ive been playing with both, and I definitely play better with MG1. Its much better long range and ROF is slower which makes it easier to chase ppl down or to keep the stopping power on them for a long duration. MG2's fire-rate is so fast, I find it hard to play with even at close range with the constant reloading.

Agreed, just because you haven't use it enough to master the weapon does not mean it sucks. Its faster rate of fire is a strength and a weakness, just as you could easily say MGI's slower rate is a strength and a weakness.
I don't need to "master" a weapon to know it's garbage. It's a nice idea, and yes, close range is better, but I'd rather have a 'jack of all trades' over an ammo hose.

It's only "garbage" in your opinion because it just doesn't work for you, clearly it works for some people or else it would not be chosen. You're play style clearly needs the Machine Gun I to be effective, but its not the only play style. Seeing as LP2 has the potential to go mainstream with all its new features such as the new guns, new and old players alike can modify their current play style further to suit the game's flow. Don't ever think a weapon or anything is garbage, you're just setting yourself up for failure down the road with that mentality because you underestimated the power and potential of the weapon and the player wielding it, just because he's using it.
Support NEVEC in MVC3!Click Here![Currently Playing: BFBC2, LP2, MHTri] The Rebellion Army owns you now... My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

Machine gun 1 has more damage and less firing rate and recoil but vice versa for Machine Gun 2.
I have a new clan called Raiders of the snow and this is a great game!

For some reason the machine gun II (for me atleast) has been dominating everyone everywhere. The first time i used it, I thought it was grabage. Then i decided to give it another try and all of a sudden i just started doing mucho better. I like it

No gun is a 'jack of all trades'
"Jack of all trades, master of none." That's the MG I. It can hit at long range, its effective medium range, and is lethal close range. Although, the Sniper can beat it at long range, and the shotgun can destroy it close range. So yes, the MG I is a 'Jack of all Trades'.

Actually in LP:EC me and a buddy did some testing and at a specific range (and it's not really enough to call it "long distance") the machine gun stops doing damage, but it still has the stun effect. From what I've seen it's the same in LP2. So the only thing you'll be using the machine gun for at long distances will be shooting disc grenades and attempting to knock someone off a grapple.

I understand what you mean now. I agree that it does passable work in a lot of areas, but one cannot blatantly discard other weapons as 'garbage' simply because they lack the knowledge on how to use them properly. Weapons to a soldier are like tools to a carpenter; you must understand everything about them to create a masterpiece. In this instance it includes clip size, RoF, damage per shot, effective range, and again, the proper strategy in their use. The list goes on.
