Difference between Machine Gun I & II

MG II reloads faster in my experience.

Still the effective DPS of MG 1 outclasses the effective DPS of MGII at almost all ranges, very close being the exception. (assuming both are being shot right at the head) Unless I'm missing something...

in the end, sniper always wins...

what i miss is the jump shoot tactic i used to use in LP1 with the rocket launcher/handcannon/plasma gun.  its harder to pull off now when you get stunned everytime a machine gun hits you.

i think the machine guns are a little to powerfull now, negates the advantage of the other weapons.  just my opinion

jumping up in the air and shooting someone with a rocket is a 1hit kill, giving the person with the machinegun the ability to stun isnt negating the 1shot kill of the rocket lol.

stun < 1hit kill, but stun does = out 1hit kill by rocket. honestly im surprised they didnt get rid of the ability to jump shoot rocket launcher all together, alot of people complained about it in the 1st LostPlanet.

What is up with the rockets. Its only an instagib if its a direct hit...I dont even bother wasting rockets unless I know im going to get a direct hit.

from what i'm hearing, i'm really glad that they aren't simple upgrades, but different tools for different maps.

From my experience with both, the MG1 feels like an assault rifle and the MG2 feels like a sub/light machine gun.

A good example of the MG2's insane power at close range, is that while in a post grab match, my team was down to its final post. (post 1 on the tower) I spawned at the post as I did, I saw someone's head get to the top of the ladder. The minute I opened fire, they were already level with me on the tower. Needless to say, they were dead somewhere close to half a second after I started shooting.

Now the weird thing I hear people say when they prefer the MG1, is the preference to burst firing. Color me strange, but I think that's retarded. Wouldn't it be more practial to burst fire the weapon with the MUCH higher rate of fire, to maintain the accuracy at longer ranges?

Now, while I myself prefer the MG1 because it doesn't feel like a hollow tube but an honest beat-stick, I am not one to simply pass off its variant as trash. In cqc maps, like dilapidation and trial point, I think it would be stupid NOT to use the MG2 simply because you'll be so close to the baddies you'll want to put more lead in him than he does you.
