And I could be wrong but even though Inafune's role was the same on LP and LP2, he wasn't global head of production when working on LP, was he? (Real question, I'm not sure.)

He got the "global" title around 2010 according to wikipedia, but he had that role long before that (I think he was promoted around 2005 or 2006)

Check this video at ~1:10. Does this stun animation look familiar ? So much about Inafune`s influence on LP gameplay...

Yes, it reminds me of the earthquake animation from Monster Hunter, which precedes (and shares similiarties with/influenced both) LP and SS.  The reliance on animations, frames and cancels is something present in a lot of Capcom games, and I personally consider it a symbol of their gameplay style (probably inherited from their arcade and fighting game experience).

On an unrelated note, SS (and also MH, but on a more superficial way) is also inspired by PSO - it shares things like the action palette and probably more.

I really liked the first two games and I'm really impressed with this one. Graphics look stunning.

I just hope there would be A.I action, like offline bots (similar to Gears of War or early Battlefields...) so those with bad internet/no connection at all could enjoy awesome multiplayer. A.I match in LP2 was good, since bots offered some real competition (or I'm just bad player :P)  but its just too limited with no VS's and only 5 maps :[

Still can't wait for this game. :]

By what I've read, looks like I'm one of the few that likes the game so far Tongue Out or maybe its just my bad taste in games...

While the gameplay looks solid, it aint so fast paced like in the previous games, like no jumping or the guys dont know how to jump Undecided

Yeah, there's no jumping in LP3.

Just got through watching akrid survival mode....This isn't Lost Planet anymore. They just slapped the name on it. My mind is now made up, not buying this garbage.

It looks like it has some LP feel but it also looks bland and generic =/

lol...........R.I.P. Lost Planet series...................I guess you can join the Capcom graveyard with the other fallen heroes...............These headstone counts are increasing quickly!

Man, this statement is so true.  I now hope for the revival of the series. I think they've gotten so many negative reviews on this game so far (which is bad considering the gaem hasn't even released yet) is because they tried to do something different and make it look like another game instead of stay true to it's roots. The game in which was copied here, I feel is dead space, with traces of other things.

LP was not about ADS, why now? The whole point of the LP Series, has been stripped from the plot(Or at least one of the main key points of the entire series.). The VS piloting has changed, I think it was fine how it was. If you wanted to have thrid person piloting as an optional choice for VS', that would've been fine, but you've eliminated the third person part of the VS completely. VS looked so fun, and was fun, when you could actually stand a better chance against the Akrids who were putting you into the ground.

I hope that the data post has not been taken from the game either.

Capcom, if you are reading this scrap this game and start over. I don't understand why you had to take out the things we loved about your franchises. I was excited back in feburary to hear of an new installment in the Lost Planet series. But why I am not surprised that what I was excited about, has made me disappointed in you all yet again.

I don't think I can waste $60 on a game that looks nothing like it's predecessors, or anything like what made me like the series in the first place.

I preferred the 4 man co-op myself.
