Here are my multi-player demo impressions...

[list]
[*]weird lobby and connection problems... i hosted 2 matches and i'd start the match with like 8-10 people then when it began it would drop several players and end up being like 3 on 3

[*]feels like you run sooo slow but that's probably due to playing Gears... eventually i got accustomed to it

[*]major issue with who is on your team and who's the enemy... they all have the same skins, no different colors?! You have to move the cursor over them and see the color of the text or pay close attention to the radar.... this is unacceptable

[*]Grappling is vastly improved. The amount of things you can grapple, more uses, and the distance... vertical gameplay etc

[*]turning is too slow, but i fixed that by increasing the turn rate in the options menu

[*]the couple of times i got in a mech, it just seemed overpowered...maybe because i've played the SP demo a million times and have better control than others but it felt very easy

[*]the data posts are a nice addition to multi...adds an extra lvl of strategy

[*]the graphics are the same imo as the older demo... there seems to be more destructability and better animation. The singleplayer probably looks even better

[*]the stats on the top left were kind of confusing at first as to who was winning and stuff...

[*]grapple being moved to X from Y was a good move

[*]on to the weapons... wow awesome selection, very different. I dont like shooters where the weapons are all so similar...like 5 different assault rifle variants

[*]the sniper rifle was very effective...even just firing at the body took em down in about 2 quick shots. It's too bad the sound effect hasnt been changed...it still sounds like a plastic toy gun. It has no feel of impact

[*]the grenades are amazing... when has there been such a variety? disc, plasma, gum, regular....maybe more(?)

[*]i tried a few mech weapons on foot... the laser rifle is a monster. One shot kill basically.  Also got a hold of the homing laser mech weapon...got killed a few secs later, didnt know how to use it

[*]the lobby system booting you out to the main menu after a match must be fixed. This was a universal complaint while playing... hopefully this is just an old build or its not implemented for some reason but will in the retail

[*]overall i loved it...great job Capcom :D

I agree with the poster above.

There needs to be a better way to distinct between friend and foe. Also, instead of it always sending you back to the "lobby", it should just automatically refresh the list. In fact it should show the hosts as it finds them instead of trying to show all the hosted games at one time.

The text needs to be bigger and clearer (especially in the left and corner.), I don't think anyone ones another dead rising inccedent.

Oh, also you should be able to see how many people are in a room before you join it and you should be able to select your team in case you want to play a game like USA vs. Japan or Germany vs. Britian or Canada vs. Austria and ect.

Keep the feedback coming and I'll reply to a lot of these things later (some of what you've commented on is changed in the full game to be more in line with what you're asking for...).

I'm with Chow Chow all the way, loved the demo so far, would like a better lobby/party system, but unless you guys have it in place for the final build already that's probably not going to be changed...

I hate to be a pest and rub your hair the wrong way Sven, but halo2 really did the party/lobby system in one of the best ways, if only for the fact that you could group a couple guys together and let one person lead, choose the game to play et cetra, and drag everyone into that game, as well as exit the game and still be in your party of people.

Player matches need to exit without dispersing all the players...

I had just one problem with the grappling hook, I was about to fall from a ledge and it automatically attached itself to it. Nice, but I was hanging in midair. I saw I could go up and down the line, but I didn't find a way to free myself so that I could jump down.
I was a big target.
It happened to me two or three times and got killed every time before I could get down.

That and the team members recognition matter are my only complaints.

The game is indeed quite balanced and the VS vs Human fights are fun.
I mostly went after the VS users but rarely grabbed a VS myself.

The "invincible while being knockdown" is something to get used to.

I didn't have the occasion to use the melee attack. When the opponent is very mobile and shooting, it's not easy to get close and personal.

I tried once or twice to throw a grenade while holding a VS weapon but it didn't work. The character did some animation but I quite didn't get what it did.

I won't comment on the lobby mechanics as it's still a demo.

Oh, and I love the ports idea.

The grenade types are great and fun to use and the weapon selection is awesome. Really good times.

I only got in a VS once, but I wasn't able to kill anyone as one guy shot me with an energy gun or something and I just kind of fell out of my VS... I wasn't dead so how did I get knocked out?

The VS was disabled by the shot. So you can't stay in it as you can't do anything with it.

The VS are balanced. I take back what I said about being overpowered.. there are different ways to take them down. Players are still learning these types of things. Also, there is no boost like with single-player

Brian on the xbox forum said: Apparently all players who don't have their gamertag above them are enemies. Your teammates will always have their name above them. When enemies get close, their name does show up i believe (and when you cursor over them). Still, imo this is not enough. The skins should be a different color or some other way to easier differentiate friend and foe.

Did anyone else experience the first bulletpoint i listed, re: the problem with starting a match with X number of players then it kicking out random number? Starting with 10 or whatever, then it ending with 6 or 7. Why is this happening? In the lobby people were telling me to just start rather than waiting for more or an even number because it will be a random number anyway when the match begins so im assuming this isnt an isolated problem

The major concerns are with the lobby system (returning to main menu after a match + the problem above) and teammate/enemy distinction. If these issues are addressed, it'll be great.  In non-ranked Player Matches you should be able to continue with the same group of people after the battle is over

Btw, I've heard the same complaints about the text being too small on other forums. This is not an issue for me as i have an HDTV so i can't comment.

I'm going to preorder the CE today and cant wait to try the other map. I hear it is more vertical and there's water or something

Some other concerns posted by other people on forums...

- Not being able to shoot back while being fired at... seems you're locked and can't do anything. Maybe this was a design choice

- Can't invite friends to your game

I know its been said, but I just have to reiterate it. In fact, I had to create an account on this board for the sole purpose of saying this! :)

PLEASE fix the lobby system and have a post-match lobby!!!

I am continually amazed when some games choose not to do this. On XBox Live for the original XBox, the actual INSTALLATION DISK for Live came with the MP demo for MotoGP. That game had a better lobby than many games made now, 4+ years later!!

Please do not drop us to a main menu or anything after a match. I think the demo is really fun in a match and I'd love to see this game do well.

... But I will never buy another game that does not have a post-game lobby. It is just too annoying to me in the long run.

From what I have played of the demo, if there is a post-game lobby and the ability to relaunch a new game, I will be buying this day one and trying to get as many friends as possible to buy it!

Please please please...  :)
