well capcom has been pulling away from sony by making exclusives into multiplatforms and by giving the ps3 a crappy port of a year old game. i was never really into capcom until lost planet but from what i have seen there really isn't much encouragement to try other capcom games.
Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Onimusha, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Godhand, Megaman, Breath of Fire, etc, etc. You mean you never played or wanted to play any of them? Love Capcom. But this exclusive crap has got to go. Though I did just get a Dreamcast on ebay just so I could play their exclusives on it like Powerstone, Marvel VS Capcom 2, Rival Schools 2, and so on. *sigh*

Maybe Capcom rushed that port because people were clamoring for a PS3 Lost Planet? Perhaps, yeah, they should've just stuck to a multi-platform release for Colonies but then again, the official announcement hasn't even been made and here comes all the fanboyish hate as if Microsoft (M$? please) butchered their mother and pets.....I don't like taking these arbitrary "console war" sides but the inordinate amount of flak the 360's receiving here is appalling, especially since it was the 360 that introduced Lost Planet.
People talk about hating exclusives. Heck, I hate that I have to work to make money but that's the way the world turns. I buy consoles for the games I like, just as I bought my 360 for Lost Planet, and then many more other games. Exclusives, in any way or form, be it timed or other, will always exist as long as there is consumer choice. I know I wouldn't be happy if all I had to choose from were the $600 PS3 (which would probably still be at this price point without competition) and the Wii.
And people who've been with Capcom and not just after playing Lost Planet (and deciding that they were suddenly Capcom fanboys) should know this isn't a first in their odd multi-platform release policy.

Again nothing official has been said by Capcom. Besides be happy they didn't just make like 2 or 3 more maps, call it Lost Planet 2 and charge $60.00 for it. Hulot said it best competition makes the prices go down. Its a free market, we are a capitalist country, its a capitalist world.;) I could care less if it is a ploy to help sell Live service. I hate that we have to pay to play online, when it has always been free in the past on PC. But I laugh because people have been paying for Live for years. If you didn't like it you shouldn't have ever signed up. The truth is really what has been shown for a supposed $30.00 is a steal. Also Capcom didn't plan any of this, it was leaked. And even with this video floating around the net they still don't want to comment because of the PS3 fanboy hate. It was bad timing but it wasn't planned IMO, and still how could not want to see it even if it may be an exclusive. Your all acting like this is the end of Lost Planet, this just shows how much Capcom cares about the franchise. Really I think the PS3 port was to share this game with another audience. It wasn't intended for those who already had the 360 or PC version IMO.

Yes, but when you give someone a taste or sample of something, and they like it, they usually want more. That's my point. That's always been my point. ;)
And the thing LIVE subrscribers should've never paid for the service if they didn't like it in the first place, that's kinda of unfair. There was nothing like LIVE on consoles until PS3 got something similar going for free. Sure, it lacks a few things, like in-game XMB, but other than that it's good and that may be added soon. And sometimes it takes awhile before you realize your console is a piece. They should let PS3 owners have LP, too, at least. You see how dead LP is right now on the 360? Most 360 owners are FPS nuts. They just wanna play Halo 3, Gears of War, Team Fortress 2, Rainbow Six, Call of Duty 4, etc.

I hear you. I bought the PC version only to find out nobody plays it, and I mean nobody. At least you can play the PS3 version. When I look for a game on the PC I find about one room with like 4 players in it, and then we play two or three games and everyone quits. Seriously I haven't check recently but there was never anyone on the PC Version. As for the 360 Version, It is very active again.
I totally understand everyones complaints. I do believe that the PS3 will get Colonies it just might take longer.

Maybe it's because There aren't a lot of japanese people playing it anymore and a lot of american players don't play it at night anymore. Because last night, I saw like 3 rooms on the 360 version. Not very active. Maybe I'll try during the day. But the PS3 version (I know, cuz it's new) is active any time of the day. you can go quick match and BAM! you got all matches found! Player OR Ranked! No player matches at all on the 360 version last night. Wow. This is why they need to add LAN and local multiplayer as options.
And I hope Colonies really gives the LP players a kick and gets everyone playing again. All those other crap multiplayer games took a lot of players.
Yeah, PS3 version has Tons of players, I never have a problem getting them, and its mostly japanese players too that Ive noticed. Its odd that capcom is sucking the teet of MS [Face it, no matter how you view it they are, weither exclusives or just first tastes for a year before porting. PC and 360 get it first for some reason. and DMC4.. supposed to have been a ps3 exclusive..], when Japan basically dislikes the 360 greatly.
