Yeah I'm excited but I think it was a bad move to make an expansion instead of a new game. An expansion just won't revive the game like a whole new game would. People will get the expansion, play it for a few weeks/months, then be done with it because it's essentially the same game they've been playing all along.
I could care less if it gets to the ps3 or not, I've still got my 360 ;) And believe me, I'm going to tear up LP: Colonies like I did to the original. Extreme Soldier achievement for the true LP player? I'd do it again. Excited? Yes! Even if Capcom didn't fix anything with the lobby system, the sheer amount of extras for a nice Atlas-considerate $30? No contest.
I can understand if you've had bad experiences with the 360 hardware, that's fine, but the service has always been good to me, even if I do pay $30 a year (check eBay for prepaid cards). And now that I have a ps3 to compare it to, Live wins hands down in spite of it costing money. I'd rather be able to talk and have talkative players (despite the bad eggs) than a mostly silent "mature" crowd on an awkward controller. But it doesn't matter anyway, especially since the snow infernus is out and about keeping people titillated with 'mum's the word' about multi-platform woes, I'm sure there'll be something for both systems.
It's just a shame that they had to release the port so late and then announce a better edition only a few weeks later for those who bought it....
Sony? and Microsoft? With their online services working in unison? *falls to floor laughing*
Seriously though, being that Extreme Condition just released on PS3, what makes you think Colonies will release with the 360 and PC versions?
On a side note, one thing that is truly disappointing through it all is one thing my wife and I have been dying to have since release; split screen and co-op. Or, to a lesser degree, local lan.
That aside, Capcom did pretty well implementing what you guys asked for in a sequel, no? Well, at least I think so. Their devotion to us Lost Planet fans has been great, and in all less than two years. With that said, back to the idea of a PS3 version... If you ask for it, Capcom will hear. I'm not saying they will release one, but you never know! ;) Ask, nay BEG, for it.

What did these comments mean? I'm following the thread and I'm not sure what these refer to or whence they came. And the second comment, do you mean to say 'what makes you think PS3 Colonies will release..." cause that would make more sense.

Does that mean a PS3 version isn't in the works? To say people need to beg for it implies it I suppose. But I'd have to agree that Capcom has definitely been good to its 360 fans and I'm glad that that poll and thread way back had actually been considered and is now taking shape in some form in my life time :)

Shouldnt have to ask Capcom to release it on the ps3.. the sales of LP should be enough.. and considering they were all gung ho about theyre future games being multiplatform. :(

What would a new game have??
New weapons, new maps, new gametypes, new characters, and new achievements.
What does this new expansion have? New weapons, new maps, new gametypes, new characters, and new achievements.
Imagine LP2 coming out...but since the snow melted...there was no snow.
Atleast now it's the same game that everybody loves...
Lost Planet right now is exactly, if not more active than it was a year ago...y
All I can say is thank you Capcom for listening!:D
Many of the new gametypes were variations of things we have been posting here for the last year. Now that I have had the chance to see what they made it is even better than anything I imagined.
Now for those who may have missed it.      :D :D ;)
