Tencale's flawed in the sense it requires a massive amount of coordination to be worth a damn in a fight. The pilot themself doesn't have any real power other than the web spitball, which does pretty negligible damage and is easy as hell to dodge when you're on-foot. 

But to get the most out of it, you'll need seven other people (Tencale VS can seat 8). And with that, you've got a mobile weapons platform that does the following:

• 2 Front Gunners, with a VS Cannon and Laser Vulcan each.
• 2 Side Gunners, each with a VS EM Laser and VS Homing Laser.
• 1 Rear Gunner, with two Missile Launcher (square pods).
• 2 "Belly Gunners" equipped with VS Flamethrowers. I'm not sure if another weapon is able to be mounted on the other side of each turret, though, but the Flamethrower crew is there to cook anyone trying to get under the Tencale and exploit its large size and slow movement speed. 
• 1 Driver, of course, to move around, jump, and make the Tencale spit webs.

So that's ultimately: 

• 2 VS Cannons
• 2 Laser Vulcans
• 2 VS EM Lasers
• 2 VS Homing Lasers
• 2 Missile Launchers
• 2 VS Flamethrowers.  

It's a lot of artillery stomping around Thunderpeal, definitely. However the game's lack of party system means you can't guarantee you and seven friends can all be on the same team, and Team Change set to on opens the door to all kinds of team-stacking BS headaches. Couple this with the fact barely anyone coordinates well when playing with randoms, and you've got yourself one glorious beast of a vehicle (literally a walking death-machine) that goes seldom-used, or at best, serves as a good source for people to field-strip its VS EM Lasers/Homing Lasers off and slap them onto a one-man VS. 

Such a damn shame. 

In theory, if you wanted to try and get Tencale Master, you could take the Tencale, park it somewhere, then hop into one of the other turrets and try either sniping from afar with the VS Cannons (though they only go into first-person view when zoomed), or spamming Homing Lasers all over the place from across the map. Since you're technically in the Tencale's turrets, in theory it may work to register the 100,000 points of damage needed to unlock that noms de guerre. Give it a shot, I guess.

The reason I think this may work is because I got the Drion Master despite the fact I barely ever pilot them. I'm almost always in the gunner seat in Campaign or Online versus, and that high damage output seemed to get it for me pretty quick despite the fact I was only on one of the side turrets a majority of the time.
