I started trying to catch up on this thread... then the Quoted WoTs just made me dizzy.  Who wants to read all that?

It seems like your whole mentality is based around "I used to be good in lp1". If you were so known as one of the best rocket launchers (which isn't really saying much) in lp1, then you shouldn't having so much problems with the new weapons. Stuff like the energy gun got revamped because starting with a full tracking weapon thats also pretty powerfull would be a problem. The MG got changed so it can acutallly be a weapon instead of a pea shooter.

You obviously aren't comprehending what I'm saying. They revamped everything EXCEPT the rocket launcher. There's absolutely no balance with this weapon now. And I never said I was having problems with the new weapons, I said I don't like how they make the rocket launcher obsolete. At first, I was saying that the best way to change that would be to nerf the plasma cannons, but people made some very good points as to why that shouldn't happen and it seems that it'd upset more people than anything, so then I thought maybe the rocket launcher could be buffed up a little bit and no one has seemed to argue against that.

Er, I argued. I'm willing to give it a chance, but honestly, Rocket Launchers have a lot going for them as it is so I'm skeptical of any buffs.

Breaking the game with them simply won't fly. Making other weapons obsolete won't work either.

Rockets travel fast, are powerfull, and they have good range. I'm wondering whats wrong with them.

not to mention you can thread a needle with their accuracy.

In LP1, I was always known as one of the best when it came down to rocket launcher matches. I hate to abandon it just like that because something new and shiny came along. I'd rather fight for them to make it better. The energy gun got totally revamped, machine guns are completely different, and even shotgun techniques have changed. Why does it seem like the only thing that's still the EXACT same is the original rocket launcher?

Because they're not obsolete, and work just fine as is. No huge need to buff them, really. Regular rocket launchers can still kill a guy in one hit, and they have a far superior range than the Plasma Cannon SP. Also, the flash itself doesn't even last that long. A rocket launcher can at least make someone stumble, which you could then shoot again or toss a grenade at them. A newbie who spams T-ENG weapons will run out of juice eventually making the weapon useless to them, where rocket launchers will respawn or be picked up for more ammo from those who had a heavy weapon when they died. Compared to the rocket launcher, the Plasma Cannon SP is kinda already nerfed.

If anything, I had to guess that you're playing with the camera zoomed in, which kinda hinders your view of everything around you anyway. If so, a zoomed in camera with the plasma cannon's flash up close will definitely be "blinding" since it could take up a lot of your screen, but the default view is no where near as bad.

No offence, but I think Capcom won't even consider nerfing the Plasma Cannon's variants. The Rocket Launcher family already has a suprerior range of heavy weapons. It's too bad if you don't like it, Capcom made 4 Rocket variants just to balance while the Plasma Cannon only has two. And no. You cannot possibly fire three Plasma Cannon/SP shots three times in a row, you should already overheat in your second.

within LostPlanet1, and LostPlanetColonies people complained about the rocket launcher because you could kill people without even hitting them with the rocket, all the player had to do was be by the rocket as it zipped past them and it would count as a kill. also alot of people complained that the splash damage was to large.

you keep saying you want the rocket launcher to be buffed but you have yet to explain how you think it should be buffed. your spending way to much time defending your arguments against others instead of spending your time explaining what it is you actually want..

im not against the the rocket launcher being buffed, but i sure dont want it to go back to the way it was in LostPlanet1 and Colonies. if thats the type of buff you want, then count me as 1vote against your argument. however if you have a realistic buff for the weapon then i might vote in your favor.

Increase the reload speed, increase the velocity, increase the clip size, and/or increase the hit radius and blast damage. Rocket launchers seemed to kill people a lot easier in LP1 because the collision detection wasn't nearly as accurate as it is in LP2, so in this sense the rocket launcher was nerfed and can't compete with the new weapons whatsoever.

Well how the hell else could you buff it up? Those are literally the only options without completely revamping the weapon. And I said "and/or" so any of those things.

I think theres a reason why Rocket Launchers are the 'default' weapon. Theres tons of rocket launcher variants thats got everything you want really.
