What exactly is wrong with them? They activate posts, kill enemies, give you thermal, and dance with you. What more could you want from them?
I agree with Ender on this one. I really don't see anything wrong with them... I started this game thinking they would be very stupid (based on what people had said about it) and found that they were much more helpful than I anticipated. Yeah, another live player would be more helpful, but for AI, they are really not that bad. I really don't see much wrong with the AI and I usually play the campaign alone.
If you are talking about the opposition... I have had a couple times where a VS was coming at me and I moved into a room with the VS following me. The VS just tries walking towards me even though it can't fit through the doorway. It became an easy kill... but a tad bit disappointed.
the a.i. are post stealers it doesnt help much when you get a post stolen by your a.i. because post do count for points and i want apatch to play like lp1 alone with no ai
Um....you DO know you CAN turn them off....right? Right? Right....
50 people complaining about game mechanics vs EVERYONE ELSE who's enjoying the game. I hope capcom doesn't go the naughty dog route and screw up their game.
Odd, I actually have more fun on Uncharted 2 now that it has been patched. Hmmm...
Seriously, Capcom needs to take Balance, Fun, and Lag into consideration when designing/fixing things in this game. It's a very fragile game, where even one minor fix could collapse the base of it. The first thing, in my opinion, needs to be the connection. Something needs to be done so characters don't pop in and out of shots and what not, and then tweak the mechanics. That way, they know how to fix the mechanics based off of how online will run.
As for the reviews, I don't blame them for rating it lower than other games, because there is a lot of broken elements in multiplayer that just aren't necessary, and a lot of it feels tacked on, especially since the game doesn't run on a proper spawn system. Although, I do think the game deserves higher than a 6. The campaign is awesome other than a few minor bugs and continuity errors, but is awesome, and fun to play over and over. Not to mention co-op.
Personally, going by numbers, I'd give the game a 7 or 7.5. A more solid multiplayer would bump it up to an eight, and maybe some patching, but bare bones, it is a good game with some minor things that need to be touched upon. I would reccomend this game to anyone that loves unlockables, because there are A LOT! That's my two cents about LP2.
The reviewers definitely did not accurately rate LP2, and by reviewers i mean IGN and Gamespot. Saying things like the controls are hard to use is just ignorant. And saying things like Akrid are spawn camping...are you serious, the guy is ducking the game points because he sux at it. IMHO these two reviewers were terrible.
Multiplayer DOES need work though. Hell my friends won't buy the game because there is no party system of any kind. Like many have posted before me, for a game that boasts cooperative play, why doesn't capcom include a party system? and once again connection issues need to be fixed.
At this point though it feels like all this is falling upon deft ears. I want this game to do good, hell i think it deserves a 9 based on how much fun the co-op story is and the amount of unlockables, oh and did i mention its beautiful looking game? But, if things don't change quick i fear Halo:Reach is going to be the focus of my online time. Its just a matter of what friends are playing, and as much as i love LP2, i hate playing alone.
The campaign is co-op, why not let buddies come together to tackle multiplayer?
Thats my 3 cents!

There should be an option for AI when making a game...you know when you choose what Episode then Chapter, then difficulty...one of them should be "Number of AI"
i fear Halo:Reach is going to be the focus of my online time.
Exactly. LP2 at it's current stage is only holding me off until Halo: Reach. Halo: Reach, judging by the beta build I played for the last couple of weeks, is REALLY solid, with a few minor flaws. And that was just the beta. The game has so much potential it's insane, but it's not taking the oppurtunity to become one of the best third person shooters in a long time.

you can party up in multiplayer, you just cant party up in ranked multiplayer. why is it when i read people complaining about this they make general statements like not being able to party up in multiplayer with out stating spacifics like you can infact party up in unraked multiplayer, but their complaining because they want to party up in ranked multiplayer? this imo is verging on trolling.

Apparently you don't know what a party system is. A party system, like Halo's or Call of Duty's, allows you to organize your friends before battle, and then search for a match lobby, and be on the same team everytime, so that way you can work together with people you know. Lost Planet doesn't have this, so you shouldn't go around saying it has a feature when it doesn't. What we want is the ability to go into ranked, with our friends, and guarentee we will be on the same team, and then after the match, be able to stay in our party, talk about the match and what not, and then jump right back in and search for a new match.
Lmao people like me? Listen. $60 is a large investment when you're a full time college student with a measly $8/hr job. I'm not going to buy a game on instinct. The reviews are there for people to gage what they want to buy before they cough up the cash. Sure, if I were made of money, I'd just buy whatever I wanted.
Also, the "6.9 for a game that is great and a 9.7 for a lame one" line cracked me up. That's complete and utter bias. Sure, not every game is for everyone; there are lots of high rated games I don't personally like, but the system isn't rigged against Capcom, and there is absolutely no way that Rockstar bribed every single review out there; it's yet to receive less than 90% anywhere. There are reasons for the 9.7 game gettings a 9.7 and the 6.9 getting a 6.9. Get your head out of your ass.
Now before people take offense to this, I LIKE LP2. A lot. But you can't simply assume that everyone agrees with you, nor can you say the review system is rigged just because your favorite isn't winning out. Let's look at this objectively people.
Personally, I find it much more effective to ask friends with similar taste what they think of a game, or go on forums to read honest impressions.
Reviews can be flawed at times. For instance, most reviews of LP2 played the campaign once, and that was only in singleplayer. That's just not the right way of playing the game. One if its strengths is replayability, and it was obviously designed for coop.
Replayability is rarely mentioned in reviews because reviewers work on a deadline and they have to jump from game to game.
In the case of GTA4, I honestly believe the way Rockstar set things up made most reviewers biased. Having a fancy review event for press people where they got introduced to the game by the developers and got to play with them, well, that's something which could make it seem like a much more positive experience. It's definitely drastically different compared how to a normal consumer experiences the game.

you can set team switch, you can set private slots in unranked games. you can go back to menu at the end of game and host can reset the maps and game types...
