If a new LP is indeed announced I hope it's in the style of LP1 and 2! I also wouldn't mind remasters with fixes and balance tweaks. :)

Give me the style and singleplayer of LP1 with the clunkiness ironed out and the multiplayer aspect of LP2 and you have me sold instantly.

For multiplayer I would like to see a more classic style although with many of the mechanics that were brought in with LP2. I wouldn't mind seeing the LP2 style of loadouts present though as an option, so long as we can customize our loadouts mid-game, ban certain weapons, and as long as the weapon types are reworked.
I think all the weapon types should be split based on the weapon model they use. For example, Standard should be split into Machine Guns, Energy Guns, and Gunswords. Perhaps MG and GS could be put into the same category since they are very similar. Short Range should be Shotguns and Launchers where as the Revolver could be grouped with the Handgun. A new grenade category could be "Specials" which would consist of any gimicky grenades like the Firework or Chameleon grenades. For campaign, I would like to see either a full on co-op or a single player with co-op "VR" missions. Either way, I'd like to see an EX Troopers hub style for it. Perhaps even take inspiration from the upgrade system in EX Troopers. Like you can start a new game and have only the basic guns but as you progress you can acquire blueprints and materials to make the variants like MG II, Rocket Launcher SP, Hand Grenade III, etc. all while still being able to choose the basic versions for each mission or other variants. And just as the PVP, I'd like to see the mechanics LP2 had brought back. Weekly leaderboards need to be brought back. We shouldn't be screwed over because a couple of cheaters occupy the top spot, making it impossible for legit players to get certain rewards like in LP2. Server browser for ranked and unranked. Unify the two into one browser with icons to differentiate them. Allow join in-progress for certain game modes and make in-progress matches visible in the browser even if they can't be joined. Bring back optional connection types. A population counter would also be nice. This might be something a lot of people would hate but I wouldn't mind seeing cosmetic microtransactions if it meant we could get free maps and game modes.

I actually think you raised a lot of awesome points here, i full on hope they go with this. For campaign I would prefer a strong singleplayer element since i don't do much online so i would go with CO OP VR missions or even just the ability to drop into a game without having to affect the silgleplayer like LP2 did, i always believe both types of people should be pandered to in that regard, since multiplayer came in, the world of gaming is now split into two groups of people, the ones that like a solo experience and the ones that really love the social and team element so it would be probably ideal to pander to both in that regard. Those are some relally good ideas though, pretyt much all agreed.

As much as I would love for it to be an LP title all I can say is do not get your hopes to high. I have been asking for a true sequel since Lost Planet 2 and even asking for EX Troopers to come state side and there was no luck there.

Honestly, I think if Capcom didn't have Lost Planet in their "top 5 franchises going forward" report plan, I wouldn't think so either. It could easily be a new DMC or Dead Rising, moreso. Considering the third lost planet was met with a not so positive reaction, it was quite a shock for me to see them list it as a key franchise they want to work on. One could say that it could just mean Mobile Games and that could easily be the case but you never know. I would be very happy if it was but i'm totally prepared for it being something else. E.X. Troopers is a game i badly want to play, It appeals more to my taste than gritty action games, i have always preferred the softer and cleaner and all round appealing look of vibrant colours and anime style stuff. It really is a shame, It looks so good, I always considered importing it but i just don't have the money.

If you have a PS3 you can Import EX Troopers and play it. despite not knowing a large amount of Japanese it was easy to follow due to the art style. It was comic book like so you could follow the expressions and know the story

If i may ask, How do you feel about the game in general compared to other Lost Planet Games? Is the combat mechanics better or worse in your opinion? I heard a lot about the soundtrack being a bit odd too. Would you say the game is as good as the main entries?

The game is good for itself, the combat is not like lost planet at all it has its own style. very japanese. Truthfully its best to look at it as an outside game with lost planet themes.
