HiPol, I still don't onderstand what you like so much on LP1 ..
Who knows, but he's def a minority. I actually think lp1 had a better campaign (except for the no co op.) and lp2 had a better multiplayer (except for the maps)

I had planned to write a blog about this, but I guess I can write something here too.
Looks like many of us is thinking about it cause i also wanted to start such a blog/thread....
Problem is that it looks like everybody has different opinion what should be changed in LP3. I disagree with most James ideas. I`d like LP3 to be kind of back to the roots - LP1. Or keep multiplayer LP1 styled and campaign LP2 styled. There will always be 2 groups now. People who started adventure with LP1 and second group who started with LP2...
Well much of what could be said could be said I could just take from my Lost Planet 2 Colonies Blog which I have already started. I like the way LP2 did the campaign did things as well, short levels and a lives system. I'm a fan of arcade style games so this was just up my ally. However, I would have like it to save between each level, not for my convenience, but so I can replay those specific levels when I want. Pretty much this is what I had written down for how I think the Story should play out, a middle ground if you will: I understand we're probably not going to ever see Wayne Holden return, but from what I've observed is that the community wants a protagonist so that they can follow the story easier. However, there has been unanimous praise for allowing the players to customize their characters and making them their own. This includes Campaign Mode. It is my idea that old and new should combine. I think Lost Planet 3 should stick with persistent characters, however we should still be able to customize them. This includes changing their gender to male or female from the very beginning, along with full vocal work for both this time. I'd advise Capcom on using Unisex names such as Baize, Lior, Myron and Sayer. Because the names work for either gender, none of the lines will be needed to be changed, so long as the script is written so that no one refers to the character as "he" or "she". Also, this would mean that Femme Fatale characters could finally have not only ingame voice acting of their own, but full on voice acting via the voice swap techniques use in Capcom fighters such as Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3.

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

So are you saying that thier should be a customizable protagonist like wayne, or the player can create and customize thier own protagonist as the game goes on? On a side note, it seems that in LP1 you could kill a VS's pilot by shooting them or you could take down a VS easier by shooting the legs. I know on lost planet 2 the VS have weakspots (the glowing rings on the jetbacks) but not as dynamic as that. maybe if it was removed, it should return in LP3?

What i'm trying to say is have 4 Protagonists that can be customized just like in LP2, however they aren't nameless just like Wayne Holden wasn't nameless in LP1. Not only that, write the game's script so that the characters are never referred to "he" or "she", just by name. Furthermore give each of the 4 protagonist unisex names and dual voice actors, a male and female so that neither gender gets shafted. These 4 protagonist would be the only 4 that you play as, this way coop is still there but theres a set story based on only their actions. I think that should definitely return, in fact given the Killzone DLC trailer you would expect this to be possible. If you remember, the Helghast Scout sniped a Jungle Pirate in a VS with a Rifle I. To me, it added to the game. Also, I want to automatically target a Gum / Disc grenade that I planted on a VS mid flip via Anchoring Technique. We really should get new Anchor techniques, who wouldn't want to punch someone with a Normal grenade that was sent towards them with the Anchor? Something like that could put like a cooldown time on the anchor before you use it again I suppose. I also would like to see how much the game would change if we could anchor mid jump and or twice, once from the ground, cancel it and once in mid air.

Or if when you fight red eye you grapple onto the shell the cannon fires and it takes inside him (if the shell hits an eye, of course) and you can fight him from the inside. or using the grapple to pull your enemies towards you (like the abyssal chain on darksiders) Grappleing grenades sounds awesome too. there should be loads more techniques, offensive and defensive, and maybe the anchor should have an increased range. i always thought it was quite limited, especially with the fact that you only use it when stationary. Tarzan swings anyone?

I don't think we'll ever be able to use the Anchor to draw enemies towards us. We can already use it to knock people over or stun them already. It's become apparent that Harmonizer's don't just give enhanced regenerative abilities but enhanced strength and agility. Waysiders were able to toss around and catch bullets as big as them and kick them into loading docks, whereas Mercernaries have shown to dodge fast attacks from Akrid. I suppose each grenade could have differences, like Shuriken Grenades do a buzzsaw trick or a quick slash before a fast detonation. I also want a Release Grenade that I can use like a portable turret that I can get behind and fire dual machine guns from. The grenade explodes (Non Fatal) once you stop manning it or it simply runs out of bullets. Perhaps no more then 200 bullets? Speaking of slash, this is something I wrote for my blog entries concerning Gun Swords: A few Gunsword and Gunsword SP users have expressed that they have trouble in gunfight, which tend to be over before the chance to use the sword presents itself. Perhaps changing their roll animation for faster but shorter and more vulnerable side steps and dashes may help them out. Even if Super Armor was added to the melee and / or lung speed increase, it might fair better. Speaking of Melee, the Gunsword and it's SP counterpart lack a clash animation similar to that of Halo's Energy Sword or Gears of War's Lancer. Both are games which Lost Planet takes inspiration and gameplay mechanics from, so its quite surprising you can't even "tech" it. Perhaps Capcom should bring in parrying to Gun Sword against Gun Sword and certain weapons?

So more advanced melee, More anchor techniques, and grenade specials? What about more types of doging - sidestep, parry, roll, block, collapse etc.? on a side note, i managed to find this suggestion thing the other day but can't remember how to get to it. maybe we should put some of these ideas across to capcom there, post the link and we'll vote for them?

I doubt you could really say Lost Planet was inspired by Gears of War when both the originals came out almost the same month, that and the only real comparison is that both are third-person. Like I said in my post, it was pretty much what you said. Have an ACTUAL plot but still have the ability to "customize" your characters and still be able to do 4-player co-op. Though the characters actually have real names and dialogue, and it would serve as a "bridge" between LP1 and LP2. I also think Capcom should wait til they fully optimize MT Framework due to LP1 and LP2 framerate issues, and flesh out the graphics engine even more (MT Framework 3?).

The graphics on LP2 were amazing. there were jjust a few glitches.

On my not so strong notebook the engine is one of the most fluent engines I know. The framerate is not high .. but it's fluent. I do play campaing with shadows and motion blur .. which I can't do for any other game.
