Great post.
Anyway, as some of you already know (chaser and Fab have sent me messages over Xbox Live and Requiem sent an invite, which I ignored cuz I'm trying to d/l FFXI on my 360 and figure out how to make back-ups for my PC so I can wipe it and start from scratch, reinstalling only what I want) I'm back. The move isn't going as fast as I thought it would, but things are getting done. I'm trying to get a day job at GameStop and a night job at either Marsh or CVS. That or just get a job with my mom. :D
On a side note, I bought BioShock. I'm liking it a lot so far. I don't know how long I've been playing it, but it feels like I've already got quite a bit of time in it and haven't gotten close to the end. I'm playing on Medium and rescuing the Little Sisters. You get less Adam doing so, but you rescue enough and you get an occasional gift to help you out. I figure it's better to do the rescuing on Medium as I shouldn't need too much Adam to get through it. I'll harvest them all when I go through Hard, though. So far, it's been crazy playing it and seeing the difference between what I do and what my brother does. Mainly, I try to ration my ammo and only use my guns if they're maxed out or nearly that way. My brother just lets loose with whatever he has. But I've played this way since the orginal Resident Evil on the PSX so that's no surprise. I also save every time I clear a room or collect some valuable items, basically causing the vita-chambers to be almost pointless. My brother just goes in, gets killed, and goes in there again. lol. Also, a few things I find really humorous and fun about this game.
-I happened to walk along and find some nitro splicer hurling explovies at me. I used my Telekenesis to catch the explosive in mid-air and hurl it back at him. He wasn't quite dead yet, so I used my Telekenesis again and accidentaly grabbed his hat. I hurled it back in his face as he got up and that finished him. I lost it, man. That was hilarious.
-There is a Plasmid I got as a gift for rescueing several Little Sisters that allows me to get a Big Daddy as an ally. Of course, I have to find one first. It's just a squishy green ball you hurl at it and its face-shield turns green, meaning it's your friend. I had it kill some houdini splicers for me because they seem to avaid me if I don't shock them and blow them away with the shotgun first.
-Another thing that gets me is how sometimes I can get the jump on some enemies, but at other times I'll make some crazy split-second reactions. Like I came across this one crazy guy (but then again, they all are) and he said "An intruder! He's ugly!" or something to that effect, and started unloading on me with a machine gun. I went in after him. I had shot him several times and we went back and forth. He was about dead and started charging at me. At that moment, I spotted a red fuel canister. I grabbed it with Telekenesis (if you can't tell, it's my favorite Plasmid) and hurled it at the guy. He burst into flames and died.
-The one above leads me to another cool thing about the game. Sometimes you don't realize all the possible ways you could've handled a fight until you've already gone through it and are able to observe without worrying about getting killed. After I had killed that crazy guy, I noticed there were two staircases I could've gone down that led to a flooded room. If I wanted, I could've led him down there and shocked him in the water. The more skills and weapons you obtain, the more the game seems to open up. I think it all just stems from the "1, 2, punch" thing. Because after awhile, shocking and beating with the wrench doesn't cut it. At least not on Medium or Hard. You really have to think a bit when going through some of the crazy situations.
So, BioShock's a great game. It's not going to bother me after I've beaten it on Medium and Hard, because Blue Dragon will be out in less than a week. I don't sell my games anymore, so this is staying. Ever since I was able to buy games without having to sell a few old ones, I've stopped trading them in. I just think it's good to build a library of games so if someone comes over, they may see something they like. That and I may go through and be like "Haven't played that in awhile". lol. I'll be playing Chrono Trigger when I'm 80 going, "They still haven't made an RPG as great as this."
EDIT: Oh yeah, has anyone seen the trailer for MGS4 with the beasts? It's on GameTrailers.com and wow. I swear MGS gets crazier and crazier. The trailer says "Simotaneous release worldwide. Early 2008". Guess I'm picking up a PS3 around Christmas.
And speaking of which, I went to Target the other day, and guess what? They're loaded! Well, kind of. I just mean it seems like some of the harder to find systems are becoming easier to find. Target had Elites, 80GB PS3s, and Wiis. That's crazy.
The day before I picked up BioShock, I reserved BioShock (just to be sure), Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata (you can get the free faceplate instore when you pick up the game. It's not just online) and the standard edition of Halo 3. I'm covered until the end of September. lol. I'm gonna need to get another CD/DVD case, or move the Xbox games out of it to make room for the 360 games.
