From the Warhawk FAQ....

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2007/08/14/warhawk-faq/

"If I host my own server, how many players can I support?
Short answer is it depends on your connection speed/bandwidth. When you choose to host a game, or set of games, Warhawk first “pings” out to what we call bandwidth servers around the globe (which one you test to depends on which country you live in). Anyhoo, it is at that point we then do a really quick series of bandwidth tests to determine how many players you will be able to handle. ......

..... If you have a really bad connection, then you will be hosting eight or 16 players. Sorry, we have to protect the player community from people hosting slow servers that just **** other players off. That said, if you connection is bad, you’ll still be able to *play* in a 24 or 32 player game, just not host one of that capacity."

Awesome. :D

Is it just me, or does the 360 not really have any games coming that will hold our attention as Lost Planet has? Sure, LP is slowly residing in my eyes from it's number one spot, but it's still there as my favorite. Nothing just seems to have the appeal as LP does for quality, story, gameplay, graphics, unique features, and all in a very easy to relate to FPS genre. I mean, sure it needs improvement in story, lag fixes for online, better lobby features, yada yada... But seriously, this game has held our attention, and been our addiction, for almost a year. I just don't see any 360 games coming out doing the same for us. I sure hope Capcom does lots more for a sequel. Lost Planet will be my favorite series for years to come if they keep it up.

Yes, I admit it, I am a bit of a fan boy. Seriously though, what is coming out that will hold our interest as LP has?

My customized license plate shall read, "LP 4 EVER."

I think (and hoping) that Team Fortress 2 will have as good a multiplayer experience as LP (given valves track record).. the first TF was a classic.. people still play CS like a crack addiction, and from what the deveopers have mentioned on the game, every detail has been throroughly planned out to provide the best gameplay.

combine that with the single player experience of Half Life 2 (included in the Orange box).. and I think it will be a def BUY :D

Im also Hoping COD4, will be a sick game. from the impressions on IGN of the beta.. they are calling it the best multiplayer experience on a console yet.. thats one hell of a claim.. esp for a BETA.. I just wish they would give a few more details.. max player support, servers ?.. etc.

I love LP multiplayer (when theres no lag).. but the single player camopaign doesnt hold my attention.. the recent Bioshock demo though.. is much more intresting then I thought it would be.. its pretty much the most engrossing single player game ive seen yet on the 360.. the art and style of the game is dope, and I love how you can approach the same scenero diffrently each time. (I love hacking those bots and make them fight for you).. Ill prob pick this game up on the PC.

I agree, especially with your last post. I was defending LP like it was my job in the Xbox.com forums for the longest before even the demo came out. But now I don't see it as being like "this is THE game!". It still has the best MP so far (when it doesn't lag) but the SP part felt kind of half-assed. It wasn't bad, but there was just so much left out. I mean I really don't like being just introduced to a character and him being like "I'm a hologram. You can't shoot my ***. Well, you won't see me until Mission 11. Peace, nigga!" and then roll'n out.

Anyway, I think you just have a problem, Snow. lol. I have quite a hefty list of games for the Xbox 360 I feel will be worth getting.

-Eternal Sonata
-Blue Dragon
-Lost Odysee
-Mass Effect
-Halo 3
-Bioshock
-Grand Theft Auto IV
-Resident Evil 5
-Devil May Cry 4
-Beautiful Katamari
-Call of Duty 4
-Too Human
-Orange Box
-Assassin's Creed
-Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Well, there's 15 right there. I'd say that's a pretty impressive line up there. I'm definantly pleased with the Xbox 360's future and with what I already have.

-Call of Duty 2
-Crackdown
-Dead Rising
-Final Fantasy XI (I'll be playing that again sometime after the move from time to time with my cousin and stuff)
-Guitar Hero II
-Kameo: Elements of Power (stfu, it's a good game)
-Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
-The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
-Perfect Dark Zero
-Saints Row
(I also have all three BK games but I only really played the Pocketbike Racer)

I already feel the purchase was well worth it. I think maybe you're just a little picky. Think outside the bun!

EDIT: And yes, I keep my games in ABC order in the CD/DVD case.

I thought this was pretty interesting.
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23520.html
It talks about how they designed the characters and the environment a little.

And this is still my favorite...http://www.gametrailers.com/player/19523.html :D

EDIT: Anyway, we're going to cut the internet off sometime tomorrow. We should get it back up sometime friday or saturday, though. Won't see me too much this weekend, but I'll probably get on during the later hours like after 9pm or something. I'll be moving stuff and trying to put the room together. I like to have things look'n good before I settle down. :D

LOL !

.. forreal though.. Im really looking forward to games on both the 360 and PS3, that really push the envelope (is that the saying? :p ) for next gen games.. I find alot of these games dont hold my attention for very long.. I would like to see more engrossing gameplay and production.. I really love how sony is pushing an almost "cinematic" experience from some of thier in house game developers.... I think bioshock while not really "cinematic"..  still does a better job of keeping the player lost in game's world.. Im hoping Mass Effect will be pretty sick as well.

one thing that i cannot get over is lousy sound in a game..  Yea ive seen some games that use full orchestral soundtrack, but what good is it if its recorded or playback at some crappy bitrate... Voices too!.. . Great visuals are great.. but it would be nice to have the sounds to match.

yea yea.. I know im picky.. but im a tech junkie, and I know the hardware is capable of it.. it just sux when Its not utilized.

Hehe, glad you thought that was funny. It looks even funnier when it's quoted like that.

Anyway, I think I'm more forgiveable about some things. I mean yeah, Dead Rising is basically a knock off of Dawn of the Dead with a different story, but it's the gameplay that makes it fun. Not too many games can get everything right, though games like Final Fantasy VI were way ahead of their time. I couldn't believe it when I played FFVI. It just about rivals FFVII in my opinion.

Chrono Trigger was just crazy awesome. A combat system I have yet to see be defeated. What other game allows two or three characters to combine their magic/tech attacks to create even more devestating attacks. The game looked just insane for a 16-bit. The game had a modest time of about 20-30 hours the first time through if you did everything. That's the thing, though. It added replayability by having 12 or so endings. It just depended on how you ended the game. I never played a game before where you could take on the final boss and complete the game without the main character. There's a super crazy fun ending you get if you go through it after the first run in New Game+ mode. That's where you start the game all over again but you have absolutely EVERYTHING from the previous save. Levels, items, weapons, magic, techniques, everything. Then you can take a portal that takes you directly to the last boss and you can kill him with two characters if you're strong enough. Love that game...

Anyway, I think everyone has their own view of what makes a good game besides there being great quality in some or all aspects of the game. I mean, some people actually like Stranglehold. If it wasn't for precision crotch-shots, it would've been complete garbage to me. But hey, some people like it, I don't.

I think I'm just a Lost Planet fanboy. I do have to agree with you about the story. But there are many possibilities for Capcom to explore in a sequel. I sure hope they do, and put alot more effort into it. I mean, it's a superb concept for a sci-fi game, it just needs a bit more effort put into quality of the storyline. The multiplayer though, it just can't be beat in my opinion. Unless, of course, Capcom implements the changes we all have been asking and begging for in an update or sequel.

And within your list I see a few I'm planning on getting, but I just don't see them replacing Lost Planet from number one on my list. My interests;

•Halo 3(Limited Edition reserved)
•Resident Evil 5(I'll try the demo)
•Call of Duty 4(I'd like to try the Beta first)
•Orange Box (possibly)

Oh, and if you wanna get a few of the Marathon achievements just spam me an invite.

Yeah I'm thinking for mp it'll be Orange box ftw, for co-op campaign Halo 3, as for bioshock and assasins creed i want em bad but don't really have the time for gaming that i used to for now so I'll wait until price drops for those games as they're single layer and really have no reason to purchase at release at least for me. The way i figure it if I'm going to be sitting staring at a screen alone playing a campaign mode I could be sitting staring at a screen doing artwork, playing with my wacon tablet, or learning some new photoshop skills, basicly anything that will actually improve myself. With co-op or mp though I'm hangin with my buddies and kickin it. But that's just me tho ' :D

You know, even though these games coming out look good and all, I just don't see them sparking a lasting interest in me as Lost Planet has. Don't get me wrong, they look cool, and I know I'll play them, but I doubt the interest will last... At least for me anyways.
