Lets begin by calling a truce - I am not out to flame you or anyone else in any way, just capcom because they deserve it for taking my $40 for an incomplete piece of software. Sorry for callin ya a newb in that other thread. Lol. Anyways...lo and behold I found a server (the most I ever find, if any, is 1 at a time). And whenever I try to connect to that 1 server, if found, I still get this: I do agree that it is not *completely* broken because it is evident that a few people are getting to play. But what I'm saying is, it is *completely broken* for most people. Hope that clarifies somewhat.

I agree that MP for PC needs to be looked at. I am having very similar problems. I can only find one server at a time. When the game starts I get please wait for about 5 minutes then either get to play for 5 minutes or a disconnect error message.
There really needs to be stickies on this forum if this is some sort of port forwarding issue, or something else. If this kind of issue can't be fixed, then Capcom really needs to patch this problem for these people.

Connecting to LP Mulitplayer Online servers works for me. If you use a router, are you sure you have the correct ports forwarded?

i seem to be one step past id0licious where i can get into a game but once the timer starts and reaches go it pops up a screen and says it can't initialize and it says 1117. quite annoying since i made the purchase based on reviews regarding how fun the multiplay is.

Riiiight, because every time I search for servers there are none. ok
1. this game doesnt work in servers. It works in custom game rooms made by players. If there's 0 game rooms make one, chances are there's a few ppl looking for rooms instead of hosting their own (It's exactly like Rainbow Six Vegas' MP)
2. it's functional, but the system is crap. There's actually a lot of people playing but the game doesnt pick up rooms that are currently playing. Only rooms that are waiting for people.
MP's fine, but the MP's system needs to atleast match R6:V's system if this game hopes to survives.

Well a game room made by a player is still a server :) it's considered a non-dedicated server, that's all. Anways, I wish I could agree with ya but I have yet to even join a match successfully...so to me, it's non functional ATM. They need to integrate a server browser into the MP portion of the game, regardless of if you can join a game that has started or not (why can't I wait or spectate until I can join?). This would really increase the popularity of the game. R6V "browser" is just fine on xbox, but it's really poor on the PC (straight port). But at least you can see all the games.

I purchased my copy through the Valve Corporation Steam online interface. Therefore, when I start my copy of LP:EC my local client of Steam launches this application on my PC. So, to provide connectivity through my residential gateway (i.e. my router at home) I forward (or open) the ports necessary for Steam. These ports are already built into my router. So I just choose the settings for Steam. These settings are:
TCP 27030-27039 (open bi-directionally) ... this is a range of ports
UDP 1200, 27000-27015 (open bi-directionally) ... this is port 1200 and the range.
I have successfully connected to existing games but I have not successfully hosted a game yet. Simply because I have not tried hosting yet.
Good Luck,
Aidan :)

Regardless...they should have optimized the netcode such that you don't have to do any manual port opening...leaving ports open all the time is a security risk for some (including myself). Almost every MP game out there will automatically open and close whichever ports it needs at the time. Capcom better fix this ASAP if they want any kind of online community for this game. Oh and chat/voip wouldn't hurt either, hell, throw us some of those xtra xbox maps while you're at it

I agree there is much room for improvement to the online aspect of this game. A server browser like the one in BF2142 would be good.
