Switch to Forum Live View Lost Planet Mulitplayer completely BROKEN - where and when is the Patch coming?

Among other bugs I've read about, the multiplayer portion of Lost Planet on PC is completely BROKEN...and yet it uses STEAM...what the **** is all I can say about that.

My question to capcom is this: where is the patch? when is it coming? because I'm not going to disconnect all my PC's and run straight to the cable modem because that may or may not let me into a game (I can't even find a game, regardless, and the ONE that I did find kept saying SERVER CANCELLED); add a goddamn function into the game that automatically opens your ports for you when REQUIRED and closes them again when you quit MP. Is it really that hard? Then again, the issue may not even be with ports, just crappy "Im another ****ty XBOX port" coding. Are you in bed with UBISOFT? Do you feel compelled to compete with UBISOFT for reigning championship title of WORST PC GAMES/PORTS?

PC gamers demand better. We don't want anything that looks like xbox on our computers. Or we would buy an xbox and not a $1k-$2k computer gaming rig, okay?

That being said, add a real server browser to the MP as well, this xbox live "quick-match/custom match/etc" **** HAS GOT TO GO!

Taken from IGNs review of Lost Planet, which recieved a *5.8* partly due to *NO WORKING MP*:

"Actually, don't even expect to play multiplayer, since as of right now we can't seem to find any games online. The game's been out for a few days and despite frequent searches, we've only been able to get into two games. Each of those crashed within about five minutes of play, booting us back out to the server menu. We've created rooms as well, waited for up to 20 minutes for people to join, and still been the only one in the server. Considering how short the single player campaign is, you'll want to keep an eye out on Capcom's official Lost Planet forums as to when this game starts functioning properly in the online space."

Taken from GameSpots review of Lost Planet, which recieved a *7.0* completely due to *NO WORKING MP*:

"In theory, the multiplayer should help extend its life, though at this point, it's unclear if online multiplayer is even functioning properly. Prerelease online test sessions resulted in multiple disconnects, and a day after release, attempts to both host and join multiplayer sessions on multiple connections have never resulted in finding opponents. Local network play has at least been successful. The initial eight maps included with the 360 version are included--though, inexplicably, subsequent maps available for free download on the Xbox 360 are nowhere to be found here. Should you find a match, you'll find the maps to be large and detailed. There's standard deathmatch and team deathmatch, as well as a Battlefield-type game called post grab, and fugitive mode, which pits all players against a single defender. But it appears that online multiplayer is broken for many, and the issue is widespread.

It's a testament to strong game design that even with numerous technical and porting issues, Lost Planet's single-player campaign makes it still worth taking a look. But as visually dazzling as it is, the PC version can't quite reach the heights of its console counterpart, thanks to inexplicable design decisions and broken online play."

Now, go fix your game, please.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
id0licious

The multiplayer on the Xbox360 works fine, and it works OK on PC thus far.

Could you be more coherent in your post?

Have you even tried the PC version?

It does not work (the MP portion) for 99.8% of people. I could not be more coherent in my post. If you actually have tried the PC version then you would know that the MP is broken/useless/garbage right now. Every time I search for games, none found. If I actually find a game (happened one time so far) I can't connect to it. If I host a game nobody ever joins. It's not my system or my "settings." It's the game. 5 minutes worth of research on the net and you would understand that the MP is non-existant on the PC version in its current state.

dont even expect to be respected if you are going to make false claims. sure there are bugs but PC MP is working fine. Don't believe me? ask the other 200+ that I've played with if it works.

Yes, I have the PC version.  I sold my 360 version right before the PC version came out because I like playing games on my PC rather than the 360, so I can make them more "purty." :D

First of all I'm not out to gain respect on some forum. But i guess gamespot, ign, and thousands of other people are just lying, right? Sure it might work for a handful of people, but it's obviously not functioning correctly. Therefore, it is broken.

if it works to any extent and people can play it fine that dosen't mean it is "completely BROKEN."  every game has it's bugs and this is one.you say thousands are complaining. well thousands more aren't even heard from because they have no problems what so ever. i have seen 200+ in only 3 days of having the game. There are plenty of people playing multiplayer.

When i search i get 3 or 4 and  then join one and play for hours. I'm not saying that MP works for every one. I'm saying MP isn't "completely BROKEN."
