Well obviously, if you want the full Lost Planet experiance...then get it on the 360...not the PS3.
If not, then stop complaining.
The 360 earned the sequel...which also made Xbox tons of money from subscriptions just for Lost Planet!
Until the PS3 version goes Platinum, you can't talk.
The day that any equally made capcom game 360 version outsells the ps3 version in japan (or prob any other country outside of North America).. YOU CAN TALK.
regardless of what you think.. releasing LP colonies for the ps3 internationally is simply good business. the 360 is only most popular in North America.. but im sure A typical american like yourself only sees whats in front of him.

Yes, its been in report after report that simply, Japan does not like the Xbox 360. Hince why I see mostly japanese players online in Lost Planet for ps3. As for Europe Im not sure of [Although I do see more europeans than americans on LP PS3 too] I honostly beginning to believe there was some kind of payoff done by M$ for this to happen, this is just bad buisness for them to go this route.
Yeah, why do I want an Xbox? To give M$ more money so they can waste it on the 360 some more to keep it contending? [And wow.. I estimate at least 5-10 billion put into the 360 already, and last I read M$'s networth was only around 15-20 billion? Not sure on exact number but wow, thats a lot of money put into a system they cant get to stay stable]
You are completely right but at first the PS3 was over priced IMO and didn't offer enough games. It is truly unfortunate. Just like every other aspect of the the big rich popular guy wins. But in the end I play to have fun and Colonies looks like alot of fun for a reasonable price. But I will be buying it on PC because the 360 is unreliable. I've seen numbers on the failure rate and they are much, much higher.:(

Yes, a bad start but strong stamina, it will outlast and outperform in the long run, and most would say it already outperforms as it is. Prices keep dropping, its really affordable now, A LOT of great games out and more coming this year alone [I own 11 so far :) ], and some free services and games are coming too. [I think I heard a rumor of a Free MMORPG for ps3 too]
M$ needs to stop being stubborn. If they want to keep in the game, two big things that can be simple they can do. 1) Live for Free, No premium crap either. 2) No Developer Limit for Live.

True, but my new gaming PC has way more to offer than any console will ever have.:D But that goes without saying. I read an article not long ago that predicts that consoles will die off in a few more years and exclusives will be a thing of the past. The reasoning behind this is games are what sale systems and the game developers will eventually force this, it is the only way they will keep the prices of games down. They predict a new console like machine that is open ended and can play any game will be made. We can only hope they were right and when the time comes we support it.

I dont really see that, but I do see consoles dividing off between a full computer system [ps3] and still old fashion console fun but slowly dieing [Wii]. I personally cant afford to keep up with Comps anymore, everytime I -think- I got the best specs I quickly get outdated and games start lagging on it. At least with a good console that upgrades with software updates [I wish it was possible to get free hardware updates :D ], I can still enjoy the latest games at near peak performance for a long time to come.
Look, I dont want to come off sounding like a PS3 fanboy (as much as I joke about it with Lucent :p ).. But Ive owned both systems, and 360 first, then the PS3.. the 360 and its services failed me too many times, so I sold it. Ive had 3 360s, 2 Died, one was DOA. my XBL didnt work for over a month, I just got fed up.
I have experience running my own business, and Im not saying I understand everything about the gaming industry, BUT.. I understand business, and I think I have a decent idea of how things go..
The only reasons I can see there being for not releasing LP:colonies for the ps3 are :
1) Capcom did not develop the LP engine well enough (at the time)from the ground up to work nicely enough on the PS3 that the game does not drop below thier quality standards that are attached to the CAPCOM name.
2) Capcom did not forsee (or have faith) that the PS3 would have a high enough user base by the time LP or LP colonies was released, to make it financially feasable to release the game on the system.
3) Capcom is in bed with Microsoft
4) Capcom is crazy.
considering the "official" statements that have been released in the past about Capcom focusing more on multiplatform releases, the first 2 reasons are prob more likely. I doubt we will ever know, as I would immagine these things are kept hush hush, for the sake of share holders, company image, blah blah blah.
So yea.. I get it Capcom.. but if it is the 2nd reason.... Really... I mean really bad business choices.. Way to lose fans. :(

A wise man once said "Speak the truth yo", you know what I'm talkin about.;) Hopefully they get there **** together and see that Lost Planet 2 needs to be multi-platform from the start even if M$ is offering more money for an exclusive. In the long run deals like that will take away the power that the developers do have. Focus on what matters, making good games. Then the console wars can finally end.

Just to play devil's advocate, I'd really like to see the numbers if you've got a link. LP's devs themselves, in Brian's blog interviews from way back, mentioned how the Japanese game market was changing, or had to change, and Capcom's new focus on expanding out from catering solely to Japan.
See DMC4; PS3 outsold by 360; business is about the bottom line:
It might sound like good business, but that's because as a consumer you have a vested interest, being as you own a PS3 at the moment. I really can't presume to understand the current inner workings behind Capcom's business division but I'm pretty sure they're not looking to lose money; still I'd probably go with your second choice (ROCKETMEN, anyone up for quality?). Again, just for my own curiosity, do you have any links to sales data? I can't seem to find them on the NPD site or anywhere else? Solid data is always a good thing to have :p
