Just got the ok to create a thread about this so I'm Proceeding. Now this thread is mostly to give my 5 paragraph persuasive essay about AI Fill Slot a home. So Supporters feel free to show your support here (or not) and people who are against this idea, this thread is mostly for you list the problems you have with it here, and I'll see if I can Resolve them. Now I'm on vacation so I can only really copy and paste from another thread where I listed the essay...not that it matters I guess.
Essay:
The Importance of AI Fill Slot
Games, they usually take a very familiar course, a course we have all heard of, even if not known by this specific name, let me tell you of the Death Course: the rise and fall of games. Now once the Developers finish a game, It gets marketed and sold, many people buy the game and depending on the game it can be somewhere in the hundreds of thousands, this phase one: The Rise. After the game is bought and played for a couple months or years depending on the game we then hit phase two: The Decline. The Decline can be a very saddening moment for all gamers, you see with online games, the game is very dependent upon other players but The Decline is what happens when you have trouble finding matches, but when you do find a match there is usually only half the max amount of players a match can have, and this is when you’re lucky. So what is phase three? It is Armageddon. Armageddon is tragic phase, it shows the death of a game after a couple months or years of The Decline and the Developers have to make way for their new games they cut the servers. For Online games this marks the end, because they are dependent upon other players it forces you to move on and buy their next product. With Lost Planet 2, we have hit the decline rather quickly especially for PS3 users. Do not fear, I have a solution, a solution for all, one that serves many purposes and fixes many problems, introducing AI Fill Slot. AI Fill Slot has two different settings: Balance, and Fill. When toggled to Balance you will no longer have unfair matches, matches where one team has a two to three man jump on the other team, AI’s will be put on the team with the least players, so what would usually be an eight on five match has now become an eight on eight. When set to Fill, AI’s will take all empty slots in a match almost completely eliminating the tragic effects of The Decline. So what would usually be four player matches: two on two, AI’s would take the empty Spots allowing once again an eight on eight matches. You See AI Fill Slot would solve primarily four different problems but is not limited to: Extra Less Popular Modes, DLC Content Matches, The Decline, and Armageddon.
Every once in awhile a developer will throw in a couple modes that, though less popular, can be just as fun if not more. In Lost Planet 2 some of these modes that I am referring to are: Counter Grab, Fugitive, and Akrid Egg Battle. What would usually happen to less popular modes is that not a whole lot of people play them, they start to get ignored, then eventually no one will want to play them because they can never get the desired amount of players playing only two or three. AI Fill Slot would solve this problem, when set to fill AI’s would take all empty slots allowing the four people that want to play that specific match to be able to play with the max amount of players. AI Fill slot is very important and the problems that it can fix do not stop here.
DLC Content is add-on content that can be very entertaining and enjoyable for all that are willing to pay for it, but that’s exactly the problem, not a whole a lot of people are willing to get add-on content whether due to the inability to purchase the content because of financial issues, or the lack of interest in the content. Why should the people willing to purchase the content be denied a full match because of others inability to acquire the content? It shouldn’t, and with AI Fill Slot it won’t. By setting AI Fill slot to fill, the six people in a match will now get to be able to play with the max amount, because AI’s are filling all empty Slots. But AI Fill slots solutions do not stop here there is more.
The moment that all gamers are scared of, The Decline, as I have described earlier, there would usually be no solution to the decline in players, forcing everyone to deal with it and move on. If we can stop The Decline, Then we can get rid of this phase and the next then a game would finally be able to drink the elixir of everlasting life, and the game would be able to live on, but we can’t. That’s right no one has been able to rid these phases of existence, but we can supplement the decline of players with AI’s by using AI Fill Slot. Make no Mistake this would not get rid of Armageddon, it’s simply an artificial solution, and because of the decline of real players, Armageddon will only be postponed but this is better than nothing. For Lost Planet 2 we hit The Decline quickly and we are dropping players fast. Now Xbox users, I know what your thinking, what is he talking about I can easily find matches we are not in a Decline. Well PS3 users are in a Decline and you are not exempt to The Decline it will eventually happen, and if a solution is found now then you won’t have to deal with it. Now this just leaves the question of Armageddon.
Armageddon the death of a game, how sad a day this is when the developers must cut servers, making online access impossible, why should a game die such a tragic death? You paid good money for that game, and if the game is dependent upon other players then you will no longer be able to play it, Developers have come up with many solutions, but none as easy or as good as AI Fill Slot, If put to Fill then no matter if you can’t find any players whether due to The Decline or Armageddon then what would usually end having you give up and play something else would become a max limit match, you would be able to play a full match thanks to AI Fill Slot, helping solve one of the greatest problems of a game.
AI Fill Slot as a very important solution that would fix a variety of problems. Now let’s address what you can do in order to implement AI Fill Slot in lost Planet 2. First all Unity Members add: I Support AI Fill Slot! , to your signature, if we can show the Developers how important this is to us then we have that much more of a chance. Don’t stop there, just because they can see it doesn’t always mean they will do it, make sure your voice is heard. It can be as simple by trying to get the few people that don’t agree with AI Fill Slot to agree, or as elaborate as telling the Developers yourself. AI Slot should be a part of every game, let’s start by adding this to Lost Planet 2

Q: Will AI be fair in ranked, because noob surfing will turn into AI Surfing?
A:Yes, understand that with ranked the teams are usually even, when they are uneven it's only a one man jump therefore only one AI will be on the other team, and if you can manage to beat an AI in a close combat situation then you deserve to AI surf (AI's have a ridiculous amazing aim)
Q: Why can't we just let the game die on it's own and leave it at that?
A: I don't see why we have to let a game die when there is no reason to.
Q: What about in faction, will there be matches filled with AI?
A: No, in faction and ranked they will be set to balance so that they will only even out teams not fill all empty slots. but yes there could be up to 4 AI's on one team depending on how bad the advanatge is, but understand they are only there to balance things out.
Q: Don't AI's suck?
A: This is a very controversial statement, some believe they are easy to kill, but those who think that have not played AI Battle and I advise you to play AI Battle before you form an opionion. Also, AI's have amazing Aim and when they throw gernades they tend to throw all gernades available to them, this is called spamming.
Q:Can't you make the AI's harder to kill?
A: I believe if capcom implements this then they would make them harder to kill further on in the thread are some of my own ideas how to make them harder.
Q: Don't AI's Lag?
A: From my knowledge they would not lag because they are intergrated into the system and don't run on any connection, if they start to lag check your own connection.
Q: Wait are we using the AI's in campaign? where they pretty much just stand there?
A: No, We will be using the AI's from AI Battle, They actually fight different and better than the ones in campaign, and let me tell you way. The ones in campaign don't have a clear objective only to defend the area exit point there is no objective such as in multiplayer where the objective is seek out dataposts to win or seek out enemies and kill them. The ones in campaign are not allowed to move a whole lot and try to find and kill you, the ones in AI Battle are, these are the ones we'll use. I advise everyone to play AI Battle a match is only 10 mintues and there is no team switch.
