Will we ever get a release date, and what is with the new and very stupid weapon system? I mean why make it like that?

1. In what catagory of weapons is the shield? i tried looking it up in gameplay vids, but i couldn't see it.

Strangely enough I just watched a video last night that answers that. In this video gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/26538 ,from the video post thread, you can see that sheild counts in the support category (at least as of then).

Ah, thanks, haven't seen that vid yet. Makes me wonder what other weapons could be used as support class :)

Snow, as you have confirmed that players will still have the ability to be invincible during certain animations, what are the developers doing to teach new players how to take advantage of this feature?

Personally i think theses kind of features shouldn't be in a game like this and i'm hoping that Capcom learn how to improve their animations so it doesn't make the game feel unrealistic.

Finally someone who agrees with me.  Animations where you can't be killed are ok for campaign but not for competitive multiplayer.  The roll may take a certain amount of "skill" but once learned it is insanely cheap and when mixed with lag just doesn't play out well.  Some weapons like the energy gun could be rollable but not everything in the game.  The constant falling over and not being able to kill people on the ground is incredibly annoying as well.  You can say, "just stick em when they're on the ground" but the problem is there are often so many people that if you are wasting your time trying to stick a guy on the ground you're just going to end up dead and then he will roll the grenade...

NO! You will never get a release date!!! MUWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

I kid. Tongue out Of course you'll get a release date eventually. Duh!

As far as the weapons system, it's hard to fully explain to you why it's awesome until you actually try this out for yourself. Wait until you have a character that's custom made to your liking, weapons and all... In short though, it's a rewards system, and helps generate uniqueness in the game. If everyone ran around as the same, well, that's been done before. This isn't about just making a bland character. This is about showing off the character YOU made, and YOU worked hard to customize. You'll be rewarded with things to customize as you progress in the campaign in online modes.

This might be hard to understand at the moment, and it may not make sense to you. But I ask that you be patient, and try it out for how amazing it makes the game once you get your hands on it.

Will VS's suck up T-ENG in multiplayer?

Yep. There's videos online of the multiplayer battles that were on the show floor of TGS. I suggest watching them. You'll love the VS action. Cool

I take it you're not a Street Fighter player... SF is very similar to LP in this sense.

What makes Lost Planet shine among other shooters is the fact that it has a layer of strategy most games don't. Take for instance if someone starts shooting you before you have time to think. Most games that means your dead, wait to respawn to start shooting him before he shoots you. Now take for instance the roll. There's no regenerating health, so this adds a section of skill based gameplay as a factor. If someone starts shooting you, you usually have time to counteract this. Turn the tide.

I could go on and on if you're interested in my rants. But essentially, those animations make Lost Planet what it is: a game about skill. Not about who can pull the trigger first.

That said, many of the old animations are gone, have been sped up to improve gameplay, and some are no longer invulnerable.

Alright, about elimination and Team elimination.  Will they still be battle gauge linked, and if they are will certain deaths be of different values.  Would VS versus unsuited person be slightly less valuable, and would a person killing someone in a vs earn extra?

As for straight elimination, in LP 1, the match would end the moment one person ran out of battle gauge.  This always rubbed me as a bit unfair since it seemed a bit unfair that it depended on who lost first instead of on who actually eliminated the other people.  Is this still going to be the plan for free for all eliminations or will there be a few changes.
