If they said, "Lost Planet 2 will be released *Blah blah*, 2010" Then you would get really excited for it, but if Capcom still has some more stuff to work on for it and changes the date, then everyone would be wondering what happened and be in confusion and frustration.
It's just a lot better to wait for a good, finalized date.

I hate repeating myself, but yet again, I'll say it. Once we have a date to announce, we'll make sure you fans know about it.
I remember that contest. It's too bad people just started spamming random ones, I was trying to come up with ones that make sense. Do I remember correctly that the prize was a Gordiant plushy? In addition to having your line used as the official one.
