If the fans show them we want it, then yes. The ending for LP2 doesn't seem to help that much though, the only way I can think of making a 3rd is either A) Something dealing with Space Akrid like Akrid X and B) A Reboot, something that uses basic ideas from the series (NEVEC, Harmonizers, Akrid, Anchor, Vital Suits and Thermal Energy. Factions maybe?) but is completely a different story on its own.

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

Yes, I do. The way Capcom has made this series is episodic. The games follow the same series of events, but they are about different plotlines. This way the next game could really be about anything and from any perspective.

I did not see jungles and deserts coming at all, even after the first game's ending. Maybe some dense pine forests, but tropical jungles? The Cat-Gs made the jungles and deserts makes sense though. Heck, expect anything from LP3. Since thermal energy is not being hogged by the Over-G, there will be more dynamic enviroments and hopefully some more tundra levels.

With some better dialogue, better split screen, and more accessable multiplayer (pre-order map pack and faction matches) LP3 should be able to own more than LP2 did.

All depends on sales. Accoriding to a report Capcom revenues were down around 75% at the end of their most recent fiscal year. Now this is because MH3 and LP2 were both coming out in the new fiscal year, so revenue incured from those sales could not be reported.

With that said, do i think LP2 sales have reached what was expected? NO... With the game already looking at price cuts, the situation could be more desperate than we think. And it was pushed back initially because Capcom was afriad the game wouldn't sell in February...that didn't work out to well.

All these sign say UHOH! in this accountants opinion.

That is only in Wal-marts, K-Marts, and other large department stores (from what I have seen) and a lot of great games like Red Dead, Arkham Asylum, and others are 39.99 at Wal-Mart. It is still the usual price in all the game boutiques that gamers go to. Japan loved the game, the East loved the game, it was the West that was torn. LP1 was not very popular here either, but LP2 still came out. LP2 is a new type of experience that people are not used to. Once the idea sits for a while, Reviewers will get (find) friends and play the game.

Very true, I'm in the West and I love the game, but there are a lot of people here that feel liking being "pro" at a game is better than actually having a fun, original game like LP2.

Red Dead is not selling for 39.99 where i am...

I'm not arguing that it's a good game, just that it appears Capcom really had high hopes for LP2 and i don't think it went how they thought it would. When a company pushes potential sales into the next fiscal year you know they are doing it because they need said game to SELL BIG (see what i did there).I don't think it did...I never saw a single tv commercial...just ads on the internet. Not a good sign. Big games have all kinds of NOISE around them after launch, i barely heard any for LP2.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the supposed Lost Planet movie. I think that may be a better indicator. If the movie goes into production, and they start filming, then things may be better than i think. If there is a hold however on the production of the movie, i think things may not be so good.

I'm just trying to give a comprehensive response based on more than, "i like the game so they should make a sequel."

And yet, that is what baffles me, this game is nothing like I ever played before, the series has potential everywhere, heck I can see a platforming spinoff for PSN and XBLA like Dark Void Zero had for Wiiware if they do it right! This shooter breaks away from the norm and slew of FPS out there, the only competitors really in TPS is Gears and Uncharted, both great series and both different enough that Lost Planet could be added into either collection if you're a fan of shooters.

I hope this series continues. It has a unique play style. I love that the cross hairs don't have to be bound to the center. That for me is really what made LP stand out.

Lp3 would be a great addition to my shooter collection. Not because i am a huge shooter fanatic, but i just like how the game mechanics of the Lost planet series are so unique compared to other games.

Before, the hype of game mechanics, was duck-cover system. Then an unlimted shield supply. Then, customizable weapons an loadout. Lost planet seems to have integrated a majority of previous game mechanics but improved them for the better of the game which i actually like. and above all, the famous Hook-grapple cannot be topped by any game. The grapple distance is enough guys, any longer would just be a snipers galore.

Of course, fans will scream out of fanism for  LP3, capcom just needs to rope in more players before they can continue such a franchise. Dont get ur hopes up too high for a future Lp3,  but atleast enjoy LP2 in the meantime.
