we the fans need to help sell the game to the gaming public (our friends on xbl and Psn), ive talked three friends into renting the game and two of those three friends went out and bought it because we had such a blast at playing co-op. this games solid and incredibly fun to play.
i truly hope that theirs a LostPlanet3, but i think they need to take the series (co-op campaign) in the direction of world war between the pirate factions and the akrids. i think alot of people soured on the campaign because you ended up fighting alot more pirate factions instead of akrids.
i really like the weapon system and abilities implamented in LostPlanet2 but being able to win all weapons from the slot machine gives way to alot of people abusing the system. everything should be won through raising the level of your faction.

I must admit that LP2 is a great game. I gotta say, that if the game was entirely on Akrid, it would be too easy. juist throw a buster grenade, and there goes the entire nest of 10 + akrid.
Although it is cheap that players can buy all their parts and weapons through the slot machine, atleast the last parts cost 10,000 per spin. By the time i had 2 of my factions to level 80, i had already earned all there was from the slot machine. I guess i did abuse the system, but atleast it sets all factions on equal footing, weapon wise.
Pretty soon, the multiplayer will be a buster grenade fest, a plasma guns galore, invisible eninjas with shurikens and so on.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were no more. The biggest thing requested was co op, we got co op and it seems people are complaining that it's not a single player game. In the long run, sales would have to be pretty nice for another one. Here's hoping.

See for the next one, i'd love for the story to be more intimate. The re5 director seems to be addicted to grand epic tales, thats fine, but I also appreciate subtle stories too. Seems like the lack of defined characters is a complaint in lp2. I personally would love to see Valkyrie, Snow Bunny, and The Stranger, all fleshed out into actual characters.
All depends on sales. Accoriding to a report Capcom revenues were down around 75% at the end of their most recent fiscal year. Now this is because MH3 and LP2 were both coming out in the new fiscal year, so revenue incured from those sales could not be reported.
With that said, do i think LP2 sales have reached what was expected? NO... With the game already looking at price cuts, the situation could be more desperate than we think. And it was pushed back initially because Capcom was afriad the game wouldn't sell in February...that didn't work out to well.
All these sign say UHOH! in this accountants opinion.
That is only in Wal-marts, K-Marts, and other large department stores (from what I have seen) and a lot of great games like Red Dead, Arkham Asylum, and others are 39.99 at Wal-Mart. It is still the usual price in all the game boutiques that gamers go to. Japan loved the game, the East loved the game, it was the West that was torn. LP1 was not very popular here either, but LP2 still came out. LP2 is a new type of experience that people are not used to. Once the idea sits for a while, Reviewers will get (find) friends and play the game.
Red Dead is not selling for 39.99 where i am...
I'm not arguing that it's a good game, just that it appears Capcom really had high hopes for LP2 and i don't think it went how they thought it would. When a company pushes potential sales into the next fiscal year you know they are doing it because they need said game to SELL BIG (see what i did there).I don't think it did...I never saw a single tv commercial...just ads on the internet. Not a good sign. Big games have all kinds of NOISE around them after launch, i barely heard any for LP2.
I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the supposed Lost Planet movie. I think that may be a better indicator. If the movie goes into production, and they start filming, then things may be better than i think. If there is a hold however on the production of the movie, i think things may not be so good.
I'm just trying to give a comprehensive response based on more than, "i like the game so they should make a sequel."
I'm not arguing that it is a good game either. They did have a high hope for a new type of experience, so it was a little rockier than expected. These days I rarely see T.V. commericals for video games that I remember or make me want to buy their game. There was a LP1 commerical on space I believe that made me buy LP1. Most big games do have noise, the noise from LP2 was clashing. Penny Arcade said they liked it. Penny Arcade only likes good games.
The LP movie has already been funded, so bailing now would be a bad sign. Halo movie never even had a budget.
There are comprehensive responses based on both 'okay this game sunk' and that it is placing vidgamers at odds over what is a 'good game'. Capcom has more than enough titles to keep them going and LP2 showed them that they need to fix things in a game. Street Fighter is tried and true, LP needs the waxing that SF had.

yes but how many different versions off street fighter have they tried to sell us?

I know IGN didn't have the best things to say, but the fact that the Lost Planet Movie is now caught up in "internal issues" makes me even more sure that there will not be a Lost Planet 3.
And lets face it, we can blame IGN and Gamespot for seriously killing any hype the game had going. I'm suprised Capcom isn't ready to fry someone at those sites...I know i am, i want Lost Planet 3 worse than most, but it just doesn't look like theres any way.
I'm Hoping Capcom does something to revitalize the hype, because i remember my friends saying, "wow co-op demo kick'd ass" before the reviews, then deciding to get RDR after the damn reviews! I know, who bases a game based on a few bad reviews? But they gave me the old, "listen man, $60 is a lot of cash for me, and i don't want to be selling LP2 back to gamestop for $15 in credits."
Capcom, I hope you still got a few tricks left! Please prove me wrong!

Don't forget that X-play didn't give it a great review. Alot of people on here were saying it was the only review they really trusted, but had no comment to that.
