Not true. The Rathalos Armor set is avaliable in the US now via Playstation Store, and I assume the 360's store. I downloaded it, and like any set it's accessed by the presets in parts customization.

Actually Raven the Rath Armour is PS3 Only so feel free to show it off

I stand corrected. It's ps3 exclusive.

I'd show it off plenty if there were a femme fatales version, but there isn't. :P

I know right? The female version of the Rathalos armor (Monster Hunter Tri) looks sooooo much more cooler than the male version.

Might as well wait for Lost Planet 2: Get Ready To Spend More Money Edition.

Whats the point of paying for maps if you cant ever play on them? I havent seen a single Map pack 1 map yet.

I remember reading an interview with a LP2 dev pre launch and they said the DLC maps owners would be separated into their own playlists. Im not seeing that in the full game.

Considering LP2 doesn't even have playlists, sure you didn't read an interview about a different game?

Ok I found the article where Jun Takeuchi was talking about splitting the matchmaking for people who do and do not have the DLC. Obviously its not working because in the 100+ matches ive played so far I havent seen the DLC map pack 1 maps yet. Ok heres the interview about it (remember this was about Map pack 1 and how it would be incorporated into matchmaking). Ill bold the important bits:

"The DLC consists of Helix and Back to the Island, two water-oriented maps with special aquatic Vital Suits for players to use against one another. In speaking with producer Jun Takeuchi at last week's Captivate event in Hawaii, the developer shared a number of details about the DLC. No specific price has been set at this time for the DLC, though Takeuchi stressed to us that it would be priced low enough for "everyone to pick it up" should they so desire. In speaking with Takeuchi, however, it seems that Capcom doesn't expect that the DLC will appeal to everyone. Capcom has done extensive research on DLC purchasing habits for their titles and have found that additional content tends to be picked up by the "hardest core" players that enjoy the game the most. With this in mind, Capcom has established matchmaking procedures that will minimize the contact players who have not purchased the DLC will have with the content. "We figured that the people that buy the maps aren't typically the kinds of players that the more casual audience would actually want to encounter online," Takeuchi told us. "They'd probably get their butts kicked."

In response to questions as to whether players would react negatively to day one DLC, Takeuchi dismissed the idea. "We've worked to ensure that Lost Planet 2 is a complete experience without these maps," he told us. "There's a full co-operative campaign and ten multiplayer maps, so we feel it would be hard to argue that there isn't enough content on offer on the disc." That being said, Takeuchi expressed sympathy with western publishers experimenting with free downloadable content strategies for their games. "It's clear that the used game market poses a distinct challenge for publishers," he said. "Every used copy of a game sold is a new copy that stays on the shelf. So in that regard, I understand what companies like EA are trying to do with their efforts. But we're not (attempting) that at this time." Takeuchi did say that more Lost Planet 2 DLC is a possibility "if the players react well to it." He laughed at this point in our conversation with him, emphasizing that "it is called Map Pack 01!"

Argh!! They better not! I swear I'm getting sick of this!

Yea I'm right there with ya, I'll be pissed if they add stuff that can't be bought by DLC, and probably won't get it.

Rathalos is free, and it is out now, no need for a card.

Essentially if capcom goes with this formula, you're getting a free skin with every DLC Map Pack released, well I can dream that happens...

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

I would take some different facts from this set of quotes.

Roughly first, they figured that the price would not deter people from getting it.  The price of the first dlc was fine.  After those maps didn't get the exposure they needed, the price needed to change, but the second pack is being announced as having the same price.  It's too much now that we know we won't get to play them.

As for the lines "With this in mind, Capcom has established matchmaking procedures  that will minimize the contact players who have not purchased the DLC  will have with the content."  I see how it could mean that the people will be seperated so they won't end up missing out on anything.

It's good that the maps aren't being pushed on people that don't have them.  "With this in mind, Capcom has established matchmaking procedures  that will minimize the contact players who have not purchased the DLC  will have with the content."  It only stops the players without from seeing matches start without them, and doesn't pimp the maps to the players that don't have them.  Unfortunately it doesn't seperate the players at all, it just doesn't  tell people without the map that they are holding others back.  No add  telling them there are maps to buy.  No kicked out screens that drop  them because they don't have the map.

It's not the appropriate way to deal with the issue.  Probably opens up a defect in the programming.  Would love to hear if someone can convince their game data that they only have 1 map, and see if they can force everyone to always play on that one map.

It's rather worrying we've had no word about a patch. I posted about the DLC problem in the Ask Capcom subforum and over at Capcom Europe forums and I received no reply. I'm afraid we'll be doomed to have useless DLC.

Wow...I really hope thats not the case. I'll give things another month, hopefully in that time period we'll hear about talk of a patch coming out to fix, hopefully more, than the map dlc issue.

If Capcom thinks they are just going to leave things the way they are and expect people to just be ok with it, then they are in for a rude awakening.

Gaming today is more than just supplying an end-product to a customer and thats it...there is now, more than ever, the need for improvement and maintenance, of all high-end games. And most companies are keeping up, and providing feedback and support to their community, on this board i have heard NOTHING about anything even remotely close to a patch from the mods.

I'd give Capcom another few weeks at the most, to even give us any word at all about a patch. After that point, I'd be convinced that they're just going to release the rest of the LP1 maps as DLC, and move onto LP2: "X" Edition. That, and the LP2 Dev Team and Snow will both lose all credibility in my eyes.
