Looks like im gonna be MIA for at least a month.
I returned my 360 and the HD DVD for store credit, and picked up a PS3, along with motorstorm and Resistance.
I confirmed the exisitance of the black 360 /w HDMI with my local EB, and will be putting a deposit on one as soon as it becomes listed on thier system. (unconfimred street date of May 1st)
worse comes to worse, and Mircorsoft delays the release of the V2 360, ill just pick up another ver 1 in may.
Hopefully that date is correct... im gonna take my chances now that im free of the POS I had. and hopefully V2 will be more reliable.
Dont cry guys.. Ill be back in no time :p

I suppose it's old hat but now it's officially out of the closet, 360 'Elite' version coming at the end of May. Looks tempting....as long as my April 06 console doesn't fail me.

it sounds cool. i want one. but not in black. white is one of the reasons i love the 360. so i'll wait til a white one is released. then i'll setup 2 360s so my fiance and i can finally play games like Lost Planet at the same time.:cool:

Sorry I can't be with you on that one. I've always loved the black systems. They might show more dust, but they don't get dirty nearly as easy as white systems. If there is any way at all that I can trade in my current one and add money to get the new one, I will. I got my PS2 in black (not that I had much of a choice) and I got my Gamecube in black (silver looked gaudy and purple was just kiddy). The original Xbox was black and looked cool but the design was crap. I think the black 360 looks so sleek and sexy. And it makes the green look even cooler when it glows. I don't necessarily need all that HDD space but it'd be fun to have. And I'll hopefully get an HDTV eventually so the built-in HDMI would be sweet. I saw Motorstorm on and HDTV with HDMI cables and thought it looked really nice. Oh man...Devil May Cry 4 in HDTV with HDMI...*drool*
And I'd laugh (not to be mean) hulot if your 360 died because mine is older than yours. I got mine at launch and it's still going strong. :D
