Nice TV. i have a RCA DLP and i love my vga cables with LP but with alot of the other games it seems to lack alot so i have gone back to the composite cables. as for sound system i tend not to use mine very much. i have a JVC 1000 Watt DD 5.1 and my lvivng room is just to small for that much sound. i had the neighbor come over one weekend when i was playing and asked me to turn it down. I am looking at the DD 7.1 system now but i am not sure if i want to keep it to 1000 Watt or go bigger

I use an off-brand of VGA cables with my 360. They were $20 at Microcenter, and came with a nice Toslink optical audio cable. They work fine for me. Don't look at the watts ratings on receivers. There are sneaky ways manufacturers rate their products to get them to look more powerful, but they're really not. You'd be lucky to get 100~150 (clean) watts total. But that's another matter... And it's usually the bass that travels through the walls and annoys neighbors. What speakers do you have? Did they come in a package with the receiver? How is the bass module connected (does it have its own amplifier inside it, or is it powered by the receiver)? If you are going to get something new, I really suggest getting something like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jyIm1yXCbt … 580HTS680BIt's a receiver paired with regular speakers and a powered sub. You can take this system and upgrade any of the speakers, the sub, or the receiver itself. Other systems mean you can only use the speakers/woofer with the supplied receiver/electronics, so if you want to upgrade you have to upgrade the whole thing. And they may not have all the inputs/outputs to hook up your other equipment. The one I linked to has a decent entry-level actual receiver, and the speakers aren't bad for the overall system price. You can hook up a separate DVD player, cable box, whatever.

Nub, check out Westinghouse for HDTV/Monitors as well.. http://www.westinghousedigital.com/cate … p+MonitorsThey get good reviews.. and are very well priced for the amount of options and quality.. one of the reasons is thier "Monitors" dont include tuners (not sure if you use standard cable for TV ). as most people use Digital Cable boxes, and Sat Dish these days. but you can get a Westinghouse 37" 1080p LCD for $1000.

In case you all didn't notice...Capcom today announced that DMC4 will now be appearing on the 360 and PC alongside the PS3. There is no indication that the PS3 will have any timed exclusivity at this moment. http://ir.capcom.co.jp/news/html/070320.html

http://ir.capcom.co.jp/news/html/070320.html Yup, it looks bad, at least at the moment, for the PS3. Though, the only good DMC was the first one....
As for Third Eye's question, I use the Microsoft VGA cables, picked it off eBay for $10. I'm not sure what resolution 720p is but in my console display settings I have it at 1360x768. I've also tried it with a newer flat panel LCD but the crispness and vibrancy of the CRT image couldn't be matched though brightness is sometimes an issue (some games are a bit too dark like Bullet Witch).

Yup thats true.. LCD never has as good a black level as a CRT display (although new higher end LCD HDTVs do come close.. Toshiba Regza, Sharp Aquos)
btw.. they annonced that DMC4 will be released on the PS3 and 360 on the same day.

thanks for all your help with the VGA, LCD, and DD 5.1 stuff guys. I will be picking up my 32in LCD at Circuit City this friday afternoon. as well as the microsoft vga cables. i listened to a digital system compared to a prologic II system, and i really couldn't hear a noticable difference til it was way louder than i'll ever have it in my place, so im gonna stick with what i have now. at least til i can afford a few hundred mor to buy a nicer one.
and i will be buying Devil May Cry 4 :D
