I would not want the anchor point to be a weapon in this game.
But in a more martial-arts/melee centric game I would love to have a grappling hook that yanked foes towards you for an extreme beatdown, akin to Scorpion's spear toss from Mortal Kombat.
Grappling hooks should be featured in many more games than they currently are.

think of it as if you didn't have a knife and you came up behind some one....You can just with a little strenght and enough speed cleave some ones throat out of their neck from behind and then to strangle some body like some one next to an edge just hook the hook around there neck and push them off Instant hang man very fun and would scare the s*** out of an enemy then just to strangle somebody like just using the line like fiber wire

lucent and i were playing just to look around the maps, and i started to shoot my grapple at his head as fast as i could. that can be a powerful ally, it will stun your target long enough to unload 1/2 a machine gun clip into him. and if you just wanna **** them off, you can just use the grapple gun over and over at them to make them trip and fall over! :D

In my opinion, the only real change that should potentially be made would be the ability to use the hook midair. After a jump or a fall. It does activate after going down an edge, but that isn't always enough, Just today I was knocked off a bridge in Crimson River, and left suspended over the lava stream... cool, but not very useful. A VS passed by, and I thought about how fun it would have been to let myself fall, and then hook it for a ride to one of the banks. But I'm still finding uses for it as it stands now, so I'm in no hurry to try and force any changes.

Well Capcom didn’t use our recommendations, for story and multiplayer, it has limited multiplayer game play, that does not compete with RB6 LV, and Gears. However, what i expected lost planet to be came true, just an average game experience. And an average multiplayer game that runs out after a couple days.

I just thought of something. When you kill someone, grapple their body over and over. It would be like the teabag from Halo.

I don't know dood, this is the best multiplayer I have played in a long time, way better than Gears and R6 IMO. I'm still confused why people like a team deathmatch only multiplayer experience with gimmicky weapons.

I believe there was a game a while ago where you could actually kill someone with the grappling hook if you hit them enough times. I think it was a James Bond game but I'm not sure. 007: Agent Under Fire.
