And movies are movies, and books are books.

If we don't expect anything from the medium, if we don't analyze and critique, how can it ever improve?

Are you suggesting that it's okay for us to scrutinize details like play mechanics but not storytelling?

Don't get me wrong, blowing stuff up is fun, but isn't blowing stuff up with purpose better?

Sure is. Storylines make everything better.

Which reminds me, sometime when I'm older, I gotta make one game called "The Gun Game" and just make it the best shooter ever, so that developers will just be amazed and try something else. XD

i though he wouldnt loss his memory becasue the scientist shot off the disk thingy. and ya i think wat happen is that he fainted into a coma and then she took him  to the ship and then he woke up one year later and then asked she asked him if it was him like wayne(the one that killed akrid) from fighting stuff.....

but wat i dont understand is y he was like "me"? "i dont knwo wat to say" ?  maybe he did remeber after his coma and luka said nice to meet u as liek a humor kidna way and a way to say a new biginning...

tell me ur thoughts

I like your way of thinking.... really hope it was like that ( it feels kind of sad if he just losses his memory agian... still it's would be a good ending as well... sad... but good ).
Although... it's a little bit strange that she says "I wish you could see this Wayne"... or something like that, and then he is like "You really did this by yourself"... although that kind of response is possible if they havent met each other in a whole year ( but that brings up another question... what was Wayne doing by himself in a whole year? ).

Man... i really hope that there will be a a sequel, it's a good game and there should a be a Lost Planet 2, but in that one i wish that it will be a little bit longer than this one.... it's kind of bad that you don't get to see too much of Yuri, Luka and the others.... you don't know too much about them.... execpt that you are at least 30 years older than them ^^.

Man... i keep on talking forever, but just 2 more questions... what happend to Joe?
He said he would meet them later.... did he die in the explosion or something ( an even bigger reason for a sequel :)  )

And then... does everyone have a "Harmonizer"?
If not... how can they survive?

This is what I can gather from the "story".

Firstly, it is a translated story.  Probably makes more sense in Japanese.

Next, there are very few people with harmonizers.  Probably only current or former NEVEC officers.  Those that have them can heal using T-eng.  But everyone has a life-support pack, including all the characters, the snow pirates, and NEVEC guys.  This is why T-eng is always depleting even when you are not hit, but it depletes faster when you are healing.

And those life-support packs must be good, because Luka is jetting around all the time with her cleavage hanging out, ignoring the wind chill when she's riding the speeder VS.  (However in the final cut scene she has her cleavage covered for the first half, only to mysteriously re-emerge after they set off the posts)

The thing that I still don't get:  How are Humans going to harvest T-eng if they exterminate the Akrid?  The Akrid are the source of the energy, not just users of it.  Another thing I don't get...  If this is an ice world, then the ice must be miles thick.  In the final cut scene, however, they made it look like the snow was just a thin coating over the earth and grass.

Personally in terms of the end of the story line, I just think Wayne and Luka were separated. The tower that they were by at the end of the fight was completely crumbling. Wayne could have easily crawled back in his VS and passed out again just like previously. Luka didnt want to lose anyone but I think that also included herself, lol, so that would have given her a reason to retreat. And in terms of them not being able to track Waynes VS it was damaged during the fight and as so the communication/locater beacon could have easily been shot.

I also think the rift Yuri was referring to was just his history, the fact that he collaberated with NEVEC with his father and the fact that he was frozen for 30 something years.

In response to bpestilence, I think that the only reason humans were so concerned about thermal energy in the first place was due to the fact that they were getting their @rses kicked by the Akrid and as so were using up more energy then they could maintain, however when they found out they could harvest the Akrids energy they decided it would be possible to gain back their losses against them. So if they defeated the Akrid they wouldnt have any use for there thermal energy because they wouldnt be using nearly as much! Anyhow thats just what I gather...

what i dont get is how they are both just standing there and wayne doesnt even shoot, he just stands there like "ok, i have to kill you now, but ill wait 30 seconds so you can shoot as many times to try and kill me first" its just retarded. and then at the end it really doesnt make sense, its like they rushed through the ending or something, the ending the the best part...

Here's what I think: during the last cutscene, when Luka said "I wish Wayne were here to see this", I think she was referring to the Wayne who fought and defeated NEVEC. Even though physically he was alive, the Wayne who fought those battles is gone, since any memories of those battles have been erased from his mind. He's not the same person anymore. He's a different Wayne.

My 2 cents.

I wanna know something:If they melted the ice besides using the frontier project then how are the akrid going to survive? unless they make a prequel to where everyone firsts started up E.D.N. and you play as Gale then there won't be a need for the akrid because we won't need the termal energy :(
