The resulting back flip almost always turns you into a little snow pirate pancake.

Some more points I'd like to post:

  1. Is the flamethrower supposed to work underwater? Because if it isn't, it most certainly is right now.
  2. Noticing some really bad collision detection; I'm under a cave, but still get hit somehow for no reason.
  3. Is the buster grenade supposed to be invincible to normal fire? For example, when I throw it, I can't shoot it down like I can with all the other grenades.
  4. When I've hooked onto the wall or the ceiling, I'd like to be able to shoot anywhere other than the surface I've clung onto; say if I wanted to hit unsuspecting targets. Doing this should also not cause me to fall off the surface I've clung to. Turns out you can do this by pressing LS while holding X! And to reverse you can press A while holding X! Laughing The only caveat though is that if I let go of X at any time, then I lose the ability to switch back and forth between these modes without having to reset the grapple; could this be fixed?
  5. Even more, I'd like to be able to change a wall hang like that into a cliff hang, so that I can aim more properly with a sniper rifle or something, and I should also be able to change it back to a wall hang.
  6. Swimming mechanic is a bit clunky and needs some work; maybe make it so the player auto-floats, or improve the strength of the swimming, or maybe even reduce the player's gravity under water significantly.
  7. Please let me fire my grapple in mid-air!

Cool

Just Two thing from me "Hit Detection" I have been a could 3 Meters away from the AK's Feet and it has instantly Killed me

Better In game Manuals the game doesn't really tell you the In's and Outs like it used to just a Brief amount and leaves out so much

Other then that nothing from me

I think the T-Eng needs to be brighter like it was in LP1. In the demo, the T-eng just didnt feel the way it did in LP1 for some reason. I really dont know how to explain it. Your thoughts?

Hey snow I have been playing a while and realize this is just the demo but I hope you are aware of the insane amount of bugs.....speciaficaly when you are in a VS.....the VS gets stuck in between the stupidest things...last ngiht I was playing jumped away from the akrid and boom im stuck in beween a hill slope and air lol......I pressed every button to see what would happen and nothing I had to exit the game since I was just stuck the onyl thing that would work was select and the home button of course lol...this needs some serious tweaks.....just pointing it out.....not bashing thanks.....

Here's my 5 cents:

GOODS

1-  Dropping VS weapons.  Probably the greatest improvement on the original mechanics I can think of!  I sure hope it is the same in adversarial multiplayer.

2-  Graphics/sounds/animations.  As expected, these have been improved better than I expected.  The Machine Gun is back to how it was in the old LP demo!

3-  8 "emotes".  Just awesome.

4-  Weapon pick-ups.  It took me a few minutes to get used to after instinctively going for the B button, but this works really well, and will prevent all the annoyance of mounting a VS instead of picking-up a gun, and vice versa.

5-  The anchor.  It's exactly the same length, and that makes one feel at home with it.  But also, being able to hang onto a wall without having to unload a clip is a very nice touch.

Other than that, I love a lot about it that everybody else does:  Multi-person VS's; the size of and the fighting of the salamander; sharing Thermal Energy; the fact that there is 4-player co-op...

BADS

1-  Orange disc grenades.  Why?  Is it because it could be confusing when the Regen Grenades are green also (green good, orange/red bad)?  Perhaps it is in an effort to make the game a little 'less cartoony' and darker/grittier in it's visual style?  Either way, I find it quite annoying that the colour is so close to that of the salamander's weak points (or any other akrid for that matter).  I'm definitely not a fan.

2-  Health regeneration.  I know how much people requested it, but I (and many others I played LP with) actually found it refreshing and a lot of fun that once you were hurt you could never heal yourself.  I'll admit, though, that health regen has been implemented better than I'd expected, and a lot better than other shooters.

Still, I don't think it was necessary, don't like it, and I fear for adversarial multiplayer.  However, I suppose "no health regeneration" isn't as exciting a feature to the general masses as it is to me and my friends.

3-  VS 90-degree turns.  The way the VS's now have to catch-up/are animated in turning after a 90-degree turn, instead of instantly spinning as in the previous games; I can see this slowing the game down quite a bit.  I'll be really sad if I'm unable to do those quick-turn cannon kills in multiplayer!

4-  Swimming.  Does that mean there will be no more jumping under water?!  Also, it's pretty dicky to use.

I DUNNO'S

1-  Different weapon sets for individual players in a match.  How is this going to work?  Will it work the same in adversarial?  It's pretty interesting.

2-  Boxes flying out of the akrid.  ...I dunno...

PLEASE

Try not to go crazy with the character customization!  Frank West got old quick.  Lost Planet has a really cool, cyberpunk/steampunk feel that gets destroyed when it's inhabitants don't make any sense.  (Although, I have a nagging feeling that it is too late for that.)

...That's all I can think of right now.  Overall, it's looking good.  I'm really just hoping adversarial multiplayer is as fun and unique as Extreme Condition though - that's the sell-point for me.

Children should be seen and not heard.
