New is not always good. The fact that something good is new makes it better, but not everything is good by virtue of being new. If you think this is good, I hope you have something beyond newness to justify that.

This looks like just a crap title to milk the franchise.

About the Femme Fatales, it may not be as apparent with NEVEC and carpetbaggers, but compared to their male counterparts, its clear that even the NEVEC and carpetbagger females have been designed with sex appeal in mind.

This is what it looks like when female characters are NOT just there for fanservice:

-Notice how members of the same military or organized fighting group all pretty much dress the same. How the female's clothes isn't designed to show off her legs or tits, how its not tighter than the men's, how its not to make her look cute for the sake of drooling morons.

I have to laugh a little at the MGS Reference considering you see that very same character in her panties

Lol, yeah, Japanese games don't provide the best examples, but she wasn't just there too look pretty.  the Pentagon had deliberately assigned her to Shadow Moses that same day in order to force Roy Campbell to withhold vital information from Snake during the events of the Shadow Moses Incident. Ripley from the Alien movies was just in a tank top and panties and wasn't really there to just be hot, she was one of the most badass female characters in history.

Metal Gear does do fan service, but it does it in a kind of balanced way. Look at Raiden and Vamp in MGS4, arguably the most male-centric fan service ever. Look at this fight, it is so badass yet homoerotic. Restraining, penetrating, white fluids, the way Vamp draws his knife, Raiden.

im confused fo what the protagonest is doing there

NEVEC is a corperation not a country. they have no need for acadamies and even then they are on E.D.N. III for resourse gathering predominently. its like sending a bunch teenager to a oil rig in alaska. sure they would be in a prime learning enviroment for resource gathering but dont pull them out of the fat and into the fire before puberty hits

then again this is a japanese game...

I don't think this is going to be translated for the West, but here's another gameplay vid showing multiplayer (I think). It looks pretty similar to the original LP series, but it's also got the fixed grapple points for some reason...?

The multiplayer gameplay seems to start around 3:50 or so.

EDIT: Where are the grenades? Don't tell me they took them out...

I would buy this so hard if it's brought to the US (physical release, for me).  If not, I will be VERY tempted to import the PS3 version so I can get in on this awesome action.
