Any news about Lost Planet is good news, and giving LP3 to an external developer might just be the isolation that it needs to become a better game overall. I like the way the game looks (it's pretty awesome-looking), and it sounds pretty unique, gameplay-wise. I'm not a huge fan of the giant mech, but since it serves a pretty important part of the story, and you won't be using it all of the time, I think it'll work well.
I didn't really like Jim at first, either, but I feel like he's a unique character. He's not a standard American marine, and he's not just a spiky haired anime hero - he's a guy who's stuck somewhere that he doesn't want to be.
As for the multiplayer, as long as it's LPC's map quality with LP2's gameplay, I'm sold. The only thing I didn't really like about LP2 was that certain weapons were really necessary in certain circumstances, but they weren't on the map (i.e. trying to attack a team of VS users on Thunderpeal Precipice without any Energy Guns in your loadout).
Necessary? Skill is necessary. Nine times out of ten, I could take down two Drio with two Normal Grenades and a Machinegun, especially if it were a close range battle, and almost definitely if I had even one of my clanmates with me. I don't care if the thing is mounted with two VS Rocket Launchers, they have weak points, and if you're the smarter player, you can take them down with some caution and persistence. It bothers me that you're blaming the game, when it's not the problem at all. Then again, few players are anywhere near my level (not trying to sound cocky, but it's true...), so I can kind of get where you're coming from, but your apparent incompetence doesn't mean you should ridicule a certain aspect of the game.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so rude...I just hate it when people do that, saying that a game has some imperfection, when it's the player's error that makes said thing a problem in the first place. My bad for going off on you, SolarLune >_>

It's alright. I've probably just been taken down by VS rocket launchers one too many times, ha ha. I liked the loadout selection, it's just that certain weapons that are highly effective against certain mechs are unavailable depending on your loadout. I guess it's not that big of a deal anyway, since going up face to face against a mech with a VS sniper rifle's just a bad idea all around, heh. And I think of myself as pretty skilled at LP2 - not so much at LPC anymore. LP2's mechanics are vastly different from LPC's, and I find it hard to go back. EDIT: Also, I liked LP2 as a whole. I thought that the reviews were simply wrong - how could a game improve on almost all of the problems with the previous one (better graphics, better online support / less lag, customization, co-op) and get a lower score? That didn't really make sense to me. I can barely join an online match in LPC without it kicking me. No problems with LP2.
