Do you remember that video where some guy from Microsoft stated that you'll be able to do anything in silver live that you can do usually in multiplayer and that gold just adds new things?

Well I've been looking through a blog of the developer of the Halo 2 port and something’s have sprung up.

Another difference is that you will need a paid gold subscription to host a game on LIVE, but you can run a server on LIVE for free using a silver account and then join using another free silver account from a different computer.

Oops... You have to pay for Gold live to host a game or you have to buy the game twice to host a dedicated server. Yeah, sure all other PC games out there require you to pay a subscription to host your own game that you play in.

Wait it gets better:

If you’re a Gold player, you can mark your server as a favorite to make it easier to find later. The LIVE service will remember your favorites and do a special extra query for them.

Yep, you heard that right you have to pay for the gold subscription to mark servers as favourites.

Shawdowrun looks more promising IMO.. throws in some diffrent gameplay elements, magic abilities.. etc.

Oh about that shadowrun, I'm currently fighting with them on their forums to try and make it into a decent PC fps. At the moment it's a console game that's just ported, I'm trying to show them the error of their ways before the PC players are non existant.

Usually some try and argue with me and then when I drive my point home, they just ignore the thread. No one is deleting my posts and what not, they just stop posting all together.

that seems like an easy fix that people would want ... so I'd expect M$ to never deliver it or better yet allude to it but jnever make it part of their update, kind of like clan support or dedicated servers...:D  seems to me that the only thing that they want to add to the updates are ways to get us to spend more money effectively.

That's the problem with M$ they just dont get the gaming crowd after all these years, they nickel and dime us to death while adding little of value to a system, but never once realize that they goodwill they spend on us with this console will go along way with their future, you don't spend the money to capture gamers today, you spend it to win them over today and keep them tommorrow, as it stands I think that that ship has sailed, esp. if they don't take the neccesary steps to make their flagship title Halo 3 look better, evidently the early reviews are in and it ho-hum... and it's looking to me about the same with live, sure it's great...for gaming but it's not a real value when everything else out there is free and headed in that direction, with no real support to what people are wanting I see no real long term growth

LMFAO! That was the best thing I've ever seen! It sounded like when he was firing his gun and mowing people down he was laughing and saying "Catch the bullets!" or something. Oh man, if only the characters in Lost Planet had this much character. I mean, I really didn't get into a lot of them. They didn't even put in the effort for cutscenes as they did with Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. I mean, I REALLY liked Leon in RE4. He wasn't trying to be a bad-*** but yet he still was. Solid Snake is another good character. I know Capcom made LP to be an action game, but c'mon. That's not really an excuse seeing as how Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil where all action games and they still had the cutscenes to give you a real reason to do what you're doing. (Yes, I know MGS belongs to Konami, but it's a good comparison.)

I don't hate Wayne, but I don't really love him (in a heterosexual way) either. He was a good concept. At least he wasn't like Leo Stenbuck or w/e from Zone of the Enders. Holy crap. If I had an Orbital Frame (mech), I would not cry and ***** about it; I'd enjoy it. At least he can get out if he wants. Dingo (from the 2nd ZOE) would die if he got out because Jehuty was basically his life support.

*sigh* Enough rambling. I got a new temp job for 2 months and it pays $8.50 an hour as opposed to the $6.28 I got at the other job. That and I get at least my full 40 hours. I'm gonna be able to afford some games here. Thinking about picking up Crackdown so I can mess around with hulot and whoever else in these forums has it. That and I want to play the Halo 3 beta. I wonder if it matters if I get the game after the beta starts 'cuz I don't think I can go anywhere to get it until this weekend. I know the beta is only like 3 weeks long, but it'd still be fun to try. Maybe I'll just rent it. hmm...maybe. :P

Well, I'm gonna get a few things done around here, probably play some Lost Planet or some Perfect Dark Zero (don't ask why, just doing it). Wouldn't mind having some Halo 2 matches set up privately with people on this site. I don't want to join in a game and get stuck with stand-by-ers and crap.
