Perhaps we can consider this thread as a petition.
Those of you that own a computer that DOES NOT support SSE2 Technology, make a quick comment like "count me in"
If capcom can see the many players that are running these type of machines perhaps they will consider a demo version of a NON SSE2 game.
Capcom: The way I look at it, is that if 10 people owns a Non SSE2 CPU, and you sell your game at 60.00; theres 600 dollars more you can get by supporting those that dont own a SSE2 Technology CPU.
I'm not saying I wont upgrade, cause I will I've been needing to for last few years but I just need the money, til then my AMD Athalon XP 2100 ~1.7gig does pretty well on new games.
Here is a list of my recent games I bought, Excellent on high end machines but still runs fine on my PC:
Battlefield 2142 Eragon Just Cause Lord of the Rings Online Need for Speed Carbon Neverwinter Nights 2 Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and its expansions Splinter Cell: Double Agent S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (Shadow of Chernobyl) Test Drive Unlimited Vanguard Saga of Heroes Spiderman 3
All these games I bought since November 2006 and they run pretty well :)

Hefty games require hefty systems. Keep in mind though, it is only a demo. The requirements are of course subject to change at any time.
Now, with that said - give us an x64 binary. :D

No offense but this is a really stupid thread.Your demanding that your ancient computer be able to run a game that's about 423 generations ahead of your hardware. even IF you were to somehow get this game to run without it. Your still screwed, xbox360 uses multi threading technology so that's how the code is for the PC ESPECILLY it being a port so your game would till run like crap only having one core. Then you have your FSB limit and the fact those chips don't have an integrated memory controller thus making your latency from cpu to memory communications rise. So that kills your performance right there. If you'd like to know what SSE2 does heres a page all about it LinkSorry if I'm comming off as a **** but you people who are on ancient computers comming in here complaining that hardware that's over 5 years old isn't compatible with a new genre of gaming just gets tiresome. I'll admit, PC gaming is BS, upgrading constantly to keep up with games, but that's what PC enthusiast is all about, drooling over that new hardware, just like a gear head for a car would be doing. If you don't have the money for constant upgrading (your not the only one) then mabye a console (perferably the X360) would better suit you. You've no patches to worry about, hardware compatibility isn't an issue and dun gotta worry about viruses and keeping your hardware up to date. But even a petition isn't going to do anything because then the developers would have to rebuild the whole game engine ground up. I'd prefer dev's do it that way instead of porting all our games (which I find to be BS now) but none the less, it's not gunna happen bud. If you want me to explain more to you on any questions just post here or PM me and I'll give you my msn or something.

Explaining what? SSE2 isn't exactly a new specification - if your CPU doesn't have it, there is a good chance it'll have a very hard time chugging through LostPlanet at all. Heck, my CPU supports SSE3, and from what I've heard SSE4 is already available on some (or is coming - I forget).

Dear friend, as i already posted, a single core precessor delivers playable framerates even on GeForce6 generation video card. So stop all this nonsense about the engine being developed for multi-core CPUs. It's true, it works better on multi-core systems, but it works just fine on single core ones as well.
The whole "how about Athlon XP?" issue was generated by the simple fact that an ancient Pentium 4 processor could start the game, but a much better Athlon XP couldn't.
So stop this "your computers are crap, upgrade!" nonsense when you obviously have no idea about what you're saying.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it IS known he HAS to upgrade to play as you can't play without the SSE so get bent and quit acting like were comming off as ********. Were telling him the truth. He obviously can't play it and were giving him details as to why. You obviously know what your talking about more so than the rest of us so please, tell him and inform him how he will be able to play this game without the SSE2, matter of fact, enlighten all of us.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Your statements about a dual core being needed to get playable framerates are absolutelly ridiculous.
If you bothered to look, the game still supports resolutions such as 640x360 or 800x600. And due to it's rendering techology (impressive, I might add), Lost Planet still looks good even when using these low resolutions, combined with low-medium detail settings. Add a TV-out setup and you get a very good looking Standard Definition game. On a single core 3500+ single core rig, 6800 Ultra, 800x600 gets you around 20-40FPS, while 640x360 gets 40-70FPS. Both framerates are enough to play the game.
So please, go preach to someone else.

So please, go preach to someone else. OOHHH AND HE SHOOTS AND MISSES. Way off the point. I didn't say he NEEDS an X-2. I said it'll run like crap. but ok you got me on the small resolution I'll admit defeat there. But I don't hear you backing up your remark on him not needing to upgrade to play the game. I'm waiting for the explanation how your going to get his game to run on that CPU. You also state on a 3500+ single core. He doesn't HAVE a 3500+ cpu. He's using a seriously outdated CPU that's 1.7 GHZ and simply doesn't have SSE2, so therefore, he can't run it. Wouldn't matter if it was 4.0 GHz, he still can't run it. And I'm going to keep my cool with you. This is a debate damnit. BRING IT :D
