Switch to Forum Live View Right analogue stick issues

Hi Guys,

Just picked up this game for PC and I'm loving it so far.

However one issue I have is that my right analogue stick is not being mapped properly.

i.e. when I push UP on the RS it moves the camera LEFT, and when I push RIGHT on the RS it moves the camera DOWN.

I checked the config.ini file and saw that there was a section where the right stick was being mapped to RZ & Z, however when I changed these around the settings did not apply in-game.

Is there a way I can fix this using the config.ini file? or some other method as I have to revert to using my keyboard & mouse.

PS

My control pad works in Tomb Raider and a bunch of racing games just fine, its only in Lost Planet where I get this issue with the right stick. When checking the calibration in the Control Panel moving the right stick around responds to the correct dimensions.

Thanks,

Joe

No answer :(?

basically all I'm after is a way to manually re-map keys for the gamepad...

Here same problem (with a Saitek p2900 gamepad). Some help would be appreciated. If there's no solution i think i'll save some bucks deinstalling the demo and not buying the game. ;)

I own the 360 version, but I have a feeling it might be just a problem you passed up in the options. In the controls area you should have 2 options for analog sticks, one is Inverted Verticle (Yes/No) and Inverted Horizontal (Yes/No). You may want to check and make sure you don't have that set to inverted. Now, I'm not in the know about PCs, but I thought I'd try and help out since not many were replying...

... but that does not really solve the problem. The control is not inverted. It's as if the x- and y- axes are swapped (or turned about 90 degrees). When pushing forward/backward the view moves left/right and when pushing left/right the view moves up/down. :eek:

Yep as g1s has pointed out the controls are not actually inverted, but rather the RZ & Z axis have been swapped around.

So pushing the joy stick in a vertical direction will move the in-game camera in a horizontal direction, if it were inverted then pushing up would simply move the camera down.

I can see where the keys are being mapped in the config.ini file, it just won't apply in-game so there must be some other setting or file that can be modified.

Hey guys.

Sorry for pushing this Thread, but I have the same annoying problem. So it would be nice, if anyone could post a resolution to fix that. This is the only thing that keeps me from playing this great game. :) If this is needed, I got the Saitek P480 Controller.

Found a solution for my problem.
First I changed the default.cfg file which didn't work. Then I found the config.ini file and modified it. Just swapped

RSTICK_VERT=Z
RSTICK_HORZ=RZ

for

RSTICK_VERT=RZ
RSTICK_HORZ=Z

and it worked for me.

Under XP the file is located here:

"H:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\_benutzername_\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\capcom\lostplanetTrial\" (ger version).

"H:\Documents and settings\_username_\local settings\application data\capcom\lostplanetTrial\" (en version)

Hope that'll also solve your problems. :)
