Its funny how Steam site only addresses that the patched fixed only that you can play it now offline. No word about fixing multiplayer... So im pretty sure theyre working on bringing the multiplayer fix, just give them time. I know Sven said theyd have the multi fixed in this patch too but sometimes things just go as planned and thus they seem to have pulled the info about fixed multiplayer out from the sites.

Well im seriously thankful they provided an offline hotfix, that was driving me nuts, thing is it wouldnt have been soo bad if somoe told me to quit the game regularly at each new section and you dont have to start the level all over again, but the hot fix was a must, and i do thank Capcom for providing a rapid fix for that, next mutiplayer :)

like i said in another post. i just returned the software as faulty and got a new unopened box. returned that the next day for a credit.. i'm done being a beta tester for games that go gold..
while i'm on that not once during the entire experience did sound work correctly. and i had to have sub titles on so i could actually follow the cut scenes as there was no dialog.
i should have had a better look at reviews before i jumped on this.
honestly folks if you purchased it at retail and its not been too late return this turd and spend the coin on something better.

Ok, last time for this. I've done whatever I can to get single player working, I've turned steam into offline mode an still nothing.....Can anyone tell me how to get this blasted piece of dog turd game to work? Because I'm at wits end right now. I've had this f'in game over a week and still haven't played anything but load screen, then I have to restart my comp because of steam being offlined and not being able to close steam with a program in it.

edw26487, G-Rad yiu are both right, the PC platform is complex and full of workarounds, legacy and closed Microsoft standards. But that doesn't mean companies can sell half-tested products to their customers!
G-Rad Can you do a troubleshoot run and report your findings? Make a thread, post your system specs like hardware, add-in cards, drivers, OS and how you reproduce the error.
Consoles are like a Toyota, they are reliable and simple. The PC is like a muscle car, you tweak it, learn how it works and you usually get the latest tech like 3d and physics hardware accelleration

About the NAT issue. If your ISP sells you Internet access and forces you to share one real IP if you wanto run several computers, then they don't sell you Internet, but Web-access disguised as Internet. Many services and solutions don't work with NAT, DCC send, FTP and web hosting, games like Starcraft and Supreme Commander, etc. Capcom may have chosen not to have NAT support in their code, as its an undocumented standard. It works "fine" for most users, "computer experts" usually say, but there is a chance you meet issues. Who is to blame? Not Capcom, but the ISP's and the customers who accept this. Please give your ISP a real angry phone call and demand more real IP's if that is the reason you run NAT. If they say no "too few IPs" tell them it high time to go to IPv6. If they wanto "lease" you an IP for a monthly fee tell them this is treating IPs as property and goes against RIPE recommendations. Lastly, your firewall should wall, not break (share) the internet. - NATs are not backed up by industry standardized behavior. While certain NAT-traversal applications make assumptions about the way NATs behave, it is not the case that all NATs will necessarily behave in precisely the same way. Applications that work in one context may not necessarily operate in others. http://www.potaroo.net/ispcol/2003-09/nats.html

Hello,
There is no need to go off on the ISP. I’m sure the vast majority of ISP’s are sufficiently protected by the contract you signed and have no obligation to provide you with anything more or less than the services on the contract. Since when has NAT been viewed as a security mechanism anyway? Does Capcom have “Static Routable Public IP” as a requirement for online play on the box? If not it is certainly Capcom’s problem and Capcom should be more than willing to offer a complete refund. This is like déjà vu for Xbox LP owners. Very similar issue.

I believe they do. If they advertised big as Internet, but hidden limitations that effectively makes it less-then-internet, in a contract the customer has been decieved. Very strict marketing laws.
No need for static ip, a public ip will do.
When it comes with firewalls, it seems most of them enable NAT as default.

Hello,
Going off on an ISP will get you nowhere, period. This is some of the worst advice you could possibly give to someone in this case and does absolutely zero to remedy the issue. ISP contracts are written by lawyers whose job it is to protect the interest of the ISP. Before you recommend people getting angry over something they may not be paying for anyway the better thing to do would have the customer read their contract with the ISP. Going ranting and raving without a solid position is precarious. I’m not sure what you mean by less than Internet. I know of very few applications that won’t in conjunction with NAT. Granted, some tweaking needs to be done in some instances but for the most part it’s fine. In some respects NAT is holding v6 back, people just don’t have the need at this point given the acceptance of v4+private addressing. Many firewalls as such don’t come NAT enabled, NAT is not a security mechanism. If you are talking about a consumer level router that’s a different story, but I wouldn’t call those devices firewalls, they aren’t even very good routers.
