CONTEST RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  Contest is open only to legal U.S. and is offered only in the Continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law.  Contest begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard Time (“EST”), Friday, January 12, 2007 and ends upon the 10th winner being determined.

DESCRIPTION OF CONTEST:  Capcom is holding a contest in connection with the launch of the Lost Planet™ video game (the “Game”). After the Contest begins, you must attain the following achievements (together “LP Contest Achievements”):

   (a)    Complete all eleven (11) Missions in the Game (“Mission Cleared” Achievement for each Mission);
   (b)    Collect all four (4) types of medals in Ranked matches online (“Grand Slam” Achievement); and
   (c)    Play one hundred (100) Ranked matches online (“100 Matches” Achievement).

HOW TO ENTER/REQUIREMENTS:  Once the LP Contest Achievements have been unlocked, go to the official Contest thread on the Lost Planet Community forum located at http://www.capcom.com/BBS/showthread.php?t=10791 and post your Xbox Live Gamertag.  To submit your message, you must be a registered user on the Capcom forums.  If you are not a registered user, you must first register before you can enter the Contest.  Registration is free.  You will be required to provide your name, address, phone number, date of birth (to verify eligibility only), and email address.  In addition to posting to the official Contest thread, you must also send a private message from the Xbox Live Gamertag used to unlock the required LP Contest Achievements to the Xbox Live Gamertag of Capcom Lost Planet blog owner Brian Dunn, at "BadBoodah77."  Capcom will then verify that the LP Contest Achievements have been unlocked and that they were unlocked after the beginning of the Contest.  Should you submit a Gamertag with the required LP Contest Achievements having been unlocked prior to the start of the contest (i.e. 12:01 a.m. EST January 12, 2007) you will be automatically disqualified.

By entering, you agree that you will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and a Publicity Release (where legal).   If Capcom does not receive the Affidavit and Release, your submission will be automatically disqualified.

Capcom is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, prizes or releases; or failed, incomplete, interrupted or delayed operation or transmission, or other Internet entry problems; problems with computer equipment, software, on-line systems, servers, online service providers, telephone network/lines or online communications; failure of any entry to be received due to technical problems or Internet traffic. Proof of connecting or logging on to the CAPCOM site is not considered proof of delivery or receipt.   In case of dispute as to identity of a winner who entered online, entry will be declared made by the registered user of the e-mail account, and, if a prize is won and such registered user is a valid entrant, the prize will be awarded to the registered user.

WINNER SELECTION:  The first ten (10) messages received by Capcom which are verified as having met the Requirements of this Contest during the Contest period will receive a prize. Once the ten (10) winners have been confirmed, the Contest will end.  By participating, you agree to abide by and be bound by these official rules and Capcom’s decisions. Winners will be notified by email.  All federal, state and local taxes, insurance, licensing, registration and title fees are the sole responsibility of the winner.

PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV) in U.S. Dollars.

Prizes:
One (1) Lost Planet™ poster signed by the developers of the Game (ARV $5) and
One (1) Lost Planet™ t-shirt (ARV $15).

Total ARV for the Contest is $200.  No prize transfer or cash substitution allowed except at Capcom’s sole discretion for any reason and only then for prize of equal or greater value.

ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to individuals who are 18 years or older at time of entry and a legal resident of the United States. This offer is void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by federal, state, provincial, or local laws.  Employees of Capcom, its subsidiaries, resellers, distributors and vendors and their immediate family members and those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate. Capcom reserves the right to request additional information to confirm eligibility. No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest.

RELEASE AND WAIVER: - By entering this Contest, you forever release and waive any and all claims that you might have against Capcom and its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, licensees, agents and assigns, and the officers, directors, members, shareholders and employees of the foregoing (collectively, "Capcom") arising out of or related in any way to injuries, damages, losses, costs or expenses of any kind or nature resulting from acceptance, use or misuse of any prize or parts thereof or your participation in this Contest. You further indemnify and hold harmless Capcom from and against any and all third-party claims, liabilities, costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees reasonably incurred) arising out of or related to (i) any breach or alleged breach or violation of these Rules by you, (ii) your acceptance, use or misuse of any prize or parts thereof, and (iii) your participation in this Contest.

Non-compliance with these requirements may result in disqualification, and the prizes may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected at random.  In the event that a prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected at random.  Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to Capcom and its representatives to use the winner's name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation.   By participating, you agree to the official rules and judges’ decisions.  In the event that any dispute arises regarding the meaning or interpretation of these official rules, participants agree that the dispute shall be resolved by applying the laws of California and that it shall be resolved by and within the courts of the County of Santa Clara, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of, and service of process by, such Courts for the purpose of resolving any disputes, and further consent to the propriety of venue in such Courts.

Capcom reserves the right to terminate further Internet entry in the Contest if technical difficulties, including but not limited to infection caused by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or other technical failures, compromise the integrity or ability to continue such Internet entry. Unless otherwise set forth herein, Capcom’s Privacy Policy shall apply to this Contest; provided, however, in the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between or among the Privacy Policy and these Rules, these Rules shall govern.

Basically, if you are one of the first 10 to:
A) Beat the game on any difficulty level
B) Play 100 Ranked matches
C) Get a medal in each game type in Ranked matches

and post here on this thread, then send me a PM to my own XBL gamertag so I can confirm you have unlocked the Achievements (after the start date of the contest)...

Then you win:
1) A signed Lost Planet poster
- 2 poster designs, 5 posters of each design, signed by Inafune (executive producer), Takeuchi (producer) and Oguro (director) - poster selection is first-win first-served.

Poster choices:

2) And a cool Lost Planet t-shirt, as seen modeled by yours truly here. There are 4 Mediums (2 Swings, 1 Dig, 1 Anchor Shot) and 6 Larges (2 each of the three styles). As with the posters, the shirts are first-win first-served.

Back:

Remember, the contest starts Friday the 12th. If you have your Achievements unlocked already, I will know you got the game early and had an unfair advantage, so I'll have to kick your *** to the curb.

POST IN THIS THREAD WHEN YOU HAVE ALL THE ACHIEVEMENTS UNLOCKED, THEN SEND A PM TO MY GAMERTAG (SEE MY SIGNATURE).

Good luck!

That's pretty neat. I'm afraid I've got too much work to do this weekend to be one of the elite 10, but this is a nice gesture on your part.

That's too bad. I know a lot of people here were bummed they couldn't make it to our swank event, so I wanted to at least share some of the cool stuff we're giving away. :D

Man. Though I'd be doing all that anyway, I'd be pretty upset with having done all that and being like the 11th person to submit. You know what I mean? I really would like to get a poster and T-Shirt, especially since they're signed by Inafune. I'm gonna have to get this day one and "work" my *** off. But, the Lost Planet community on these boards isn't really all that big. If only we know about the contest, then that makes the chance seem much more possible (unless Brian posts this on the Xbox forums). I'd really hate to rush through the campaign and you said any difficulty, so it'd be on easy. I don't think beating the campaign and getting the 4 medals would be much of a problem, but the 100 matches thing could take a bit of time. You'd almost have to play match after match and have each being 10 minutes long. This is indeed a bit of a feat. And I've noticed that either I'm starting to suck more at the online portion of the game or that the people I'm playing with are just getting that much better. I need some serious practice.

I purposely made the requirements easy but require you to play a lot. Like you can beat the game on any difficulty level, and the Grand Slam achievement only requires one of each kind of medal (you have to win one of each kind of match). You have to 100 ranked matches, but that doesn't mean you have to win them all or level up to Level 50 or anything. So I think that makes it fairer - everyone on an even playing field so it's about how much time you put in, not about how good you are necessarily.

Plus, like you said, this is all stuff you guys will be doing anyway. I'm just rewarding you for it! :D
