Sorry, Lucent's as rabid a fan as they come. If something came out about Lost Planet that he doesn't know, then it probably didn't happen.

That said, every game company wants to make franchises, and Capcom's never been known to let a good game go without a sequel or six.

I dunno whether to be proud of that or not. Even I may've missed something like that, but I'm sure that something like that would've been posted on Teamxbox.com by now if it was that old. They posted about how Gears is set up for some sequels so I don't see why they wouldn't make that announcement about Lost Planet. That and Capcom probably would've placed that under 'Announcements' in their own forums.

capcom is making Lost Planet 2 already. I can't believe you guys didn't know that. They announced it like 2 months ago.

We've announced no such thing.

I've gone on record as saying "let's see how the first one does before we go talking about any sequels".

Jun Takeuchi, the game's producer, has also stated the same exact thing in interviews with the media as recently as last week.

Oh~ burn! I think he heard a rumor.

That's how most game companies work though. They make a game, see how well it does, and if it's a success...IT'S SEQUEL TIME! That's probably why they already announced a sequel for GOW because of the number it sold. All I can say is, if those same people deprive me of a sequel to Lost Planet, I will be sorely disappointed.

Okay the best I can say to this is:

Lost Planet is being developed by Capcom -- what more needs to be said about this being a series?

Heh...Lost Planet is already a "series" go play Lost Planet: Trag Zero for the cell phone.  It's pretty good for a cell game.  I gotta agree, the wait and see how it does method is best for determining a sequel.  Really though I'm kinda happy about all the new IPs Capcom has put out and not milked for all it's worth. Killer 7, Dead Rising, Godhand, Okami and such.  Maybe they all weren’t billion copy-selling games, but sometimes it's just nice to play a game, enjoy it to its fullest and then move on to something fresh.

Alcades, dead rising is still a newish game, I don't really see how there could be a sequal to that lol. Zombies on a plane?

If you know Capcom's history, successful games get sequeals, those which don't do well get tossed aside. Look at Maximo -- I'm surprised they even got a chance to make a second one!

I don't assume, just you don't assume I don't know what I'm talking about.

I think Okami was a great game, but not many people really heard of it -- and it's a MUCH better Zelda style game than Twilight Princess. Yet the issue is like Monster Hunter, poor advertising, that -and- Clover Studio was forced into closer. Pity. -- But there could be some great meaning behind that... we've yet to see. Good seeds are planted from every bad event.

I still haven't played anything more than the demo of Okami. It's definantly a beautiful game, but I didn't get a lot out of it. I'm having a lot of fun with Twilight Princess right now on the GC, even if I haven't died from anything except maybe a stupid fall here and there. The wolf part could have been more fleshed out, but I don't play Zelda to be a wolf. I never use it unless I need to kill a poe. It would seem kind of surprising if Okami could surpass a Zelda game. I'm willing to give it a try though. I'm on a Capcom high sense Lost Planet started nearing release.

And I didn't know that Clover Studio was closed down. That sucks. I enjoyed Viewtiful Joe but had to suffer from that **** Playstation Underground Holiday 2004 demo disc that erased my entire memory card when I played the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo. I wish I could've got some kind of reimbursment (sp?) for that because that was a lot of hours that were just wasted. Okami and Godhand both look very interesting and show why japanese games are usually much better. Western games seem to just be carbon copies of other western games. I know Capcom milks their franchises, but at least they're enjoyable and stay to the tried and true formulas that've worked for them.

Also, what Monster Hunter game are you talking about? I just remember seeing in a review that the 1st one on the PS2 was a bad game. Maybe you see something beyond that or you're playing a different game.
