Config.ini allows you to change resolution
Ini edting will cause a crash, that's expected, since it's saying "oh, you're using a 1280x10... HEY! THATS NOT IN MY LIST!".
Avoid using the menu to change to fullscreen when you're running the game in config.ini edited resolutions (1400x900 works great). Use Alt+Enter.

Hi, Ive been following this thread http://www.capcom.com/BBS/showthread.php?t=14085 in order to run the game in my LCD monitor 1280*1024 Native Resolution without success (I got invalid display mode 1280*720 Fatal Error). I have Windows Vista and 8800 GTS. The first issue I encountered was that the App Data folder was empty - I thougt that despite not generating the config.ini file, other files would be there(C:\Users\"Myusername"\Application Data\) , so I manually created the rest of the folders (C:\Users\"Myusername"\Application Data\Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial) and made a config.ini file with the info in the mentioned post. Despite doing that, I still have the invalid display mode 1280*720 Fatal Error. What could I be doing wrong? The Application does not seem to read the file Thanks in advance and best regards.

You have to run the application, let it crash (it will make it's own config.ini) and then edit the one it creates to make sure your path is absolutely correct.

Hi Naish, I ran the application, but no config.ini file was created after the Invalid display mode error . This is the exact path (copied and pasted from the url bar)
C:\Users\Pablo\Application Data\Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial
I had to create manually \Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial becasue the game didnt create the path after the invalid display mode error.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hmm. Have you got an entire config file, or just a small one? Here, let me paste on for you with a more suited resolution for your monitor.
[GAME] MouseBaseSpeed=2.000000 [GRAPHICS] FPS=OFF SLI=OFF HDR=HIGH MSAA=4X EffectDetail=HIGH TextureFilter=ANISOTROPIC4X TextureDetail=HIGH ShadowQuality=MEDIUM ShadowResolution=HIGH ObjectDetail=HIGH MotionBlurQuality=HIGH Lighting=HIGH EffectQuality=HIGH EffectVolume=HIGH [DISPLAY] Resolution=1280x960 RefreshRate=60Hz FullScreen=ON VSYNC=ON AdjustAspect=OFF [SOUNDS] SeVoiceNum=64 ReverbQuality=HIGH CategoryEQ=ON [CPU] JobThread=2 RenderingThread=ON [JOYPAD] A=2 B=1 X=3 Y=0 LEFT=POV RIGHT=POV UP=POV DOWN=POV START=8 BACK=9 LT=4 LB=6 RT=5 RB=7 LSTICK_PUSH=10 LSTICK_VERT=Y LSTICK_HORZ=X RSTICK_PUSH=11 RSTICK_VERT=RZ RSTICK_HORZ=Z
Language.ini

Thanks, but for an unknow reason it seems that the application is not reading the config file. I always get the invalid display mode message.
I uninstall the game, deleted capcom\lostplanetTrial\ (which I created manually) just to check if the game created it after a new install and crash, but unfortunately it did not create it and I continue with the same problem, guess I will have to wait for the oficial release :(
Any new suggestions are welcome.
Best regards

VISTA USERS: C:\Users\Naish\AppData\Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial\ Im getting mad with this  Ive tested a lot and becasue of that I will ask a really stupid question. Everyone is writing the path
C:\Users\Naish\AppData\Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial\ Is everyone writing the path with AppData as an abreviation? LOL......Because my Vista has this path (copied from the url bar) C:\Users\Pablo\Application Data\Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial
It is a silly one, but I dont know what to do :) Could this be the reason why the game does not create the path Local\capcom\lostplanetTrial\?
Dont blame me :) I dont know what to do to solve my problem
Best regards.

Haven't had a chance to check the demo out just yet, but 1680x1050 isn't supported out of the box? I really hope that is changed in the final release, because I honestly hate having to screw with games in order to get them to run at my LCD screen's native resolution.
Annoying stuff like this is why I wish decent CRT monitors were still widely available at reasonable prices.

Pablo I too felt your pain but for some reason i felt you were getting closer and closer to getting the game to run. I got it to run and man the game looks awesome. Anyways to get it to work, you have to make your hidden folders viewable in Vista.
To View Hidden folders just follow these steps:
1. Click the round blue Start thing in the left corner 2. Click Control Panel 3. Click Folder Options 4. Click the View tab 5. Click Show hidden files and folders 6. If you want to see system files as well, unclick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Now you will be able to see C:\Users\Pablo\AppData\Local\capcom\lostplanetTria l\
Once in there put the custom config.ini in the "lostplanetTrial" folder
Heres my config.ini, the resolution I have it at is 1280x1024 since it is my LCD's native resolution. In another post another member posted to have FullScreen=OFF and it worked. With all this info you and everyone getting the "Fatal Error 1280x720 can't display" should have their problem solved.

I can't get fullscreen to work under any resolution, if I set it in the ini to start in fullscreen I get "Invalid Display mode" and it spits out the resolution. Alt + Enter doesn't allow Lost Planet to go fullscreen on my box, no clue why, it just resizes itself back to windowed when I try it.
