Meh, at this point Campaign holds little to no interest for me, MP is all that happens when this game goes in... although when i had first got the game, the slot machine was very addicting. But if push came to shove, and it was an issue between a polished MP or have the campaign, I would opt for MP, no doubt.
2. It had all Maps and Game types from previous versions of the game Plus 8 new maps
This was something that irked me about LP and LP:CE the first time around. You didnt get any credit for anything you had done in LP. Even worse, LP and LP:CE couldnt interface and be played together online. Again Capcom only hamstrings themselves then looks around puzzled as their fan base dwindles...
Maps? Hell they could just make it so that all the DLC Maps where actually playable and it would be like a brand new game.
Game types? Although not my favorite, ppl where up in arms about Akrid Hunter being removed... It would be silly not to acknowledge this.
4. Fully customizable controls for Your guy and Mech.
Was never really an issue for me, except if I havent played in a while: Ill be taking a data post and see trouble coming. Now I should roll away from the data post, THEN sprint. But my sometimes I stand up, go to sprint away... and sit right back down at the data post... oops! XD
5. $30 with a May 2011 release date for PS3 and 360. PC ???
Release data is whatever... the key idea is setting a new opinion in ppls minds... because lets face it, the general market thinks of LP2 as a stinking pile. For this to happen, you need time.
Enough time may have pasted to warrant another review... and if the MP issues are fixed in this hypothetical LP2:CE (and that a HUGE IF)... well who knows.
7. Capcom actually bothered to do anything about bugs/glitches that may be in the Colonies edition, and stays on top of communicating with its fan-base.
This maybe an unfair assumption on my part, but I was going on the idea Capcom would attempt to rectify some of the bugs/glitches.
I fear Capcom policy on communication will never change... and thats a direct proportion to the games popularity.
8. Plasma Cannon SP gets a nerf, we get to shoot homing rockets out of the air again, and the splash-damage for the regular Rocket Launcher gets put back to how it was originally.
I am just as guilt as anyone... PC SP is my heavy weapon loadout... but I would love to see it nerfed.

Good points!
I think that new opinion can be that MP was just TOO HARD for the reviewers who played LP2. Releasing a "MP only disc" with an "Advanced Gamer" warning label could do the trick. Capcom could market it as a very hard game. Which is the truth. LOL. That's why I play it.
I'd buy it and hope that people were on. It's neither the game nor Capcom's fault, in reality, that no one's playing it. It's sort of for the same reason that not everyone under the sun is playing Virtual On. They're both great games, but so "arcadey" that people eschew them for other titles where the playing field is more equalized. Losing is not conducive to being entertained for most people, and new people get eaten alive in Lost Planet if they don't come to understand the animation penalties and invulnerability frames. For them, everything makes more sense in Halo/CoD.
I finally got to play a decent number of ranked matches with 12 or so people last week and don't even think the weapon layouts are that unbalanced anymore. I was able to stand against, or even dominate, the homing rocket launcher and plasma gun sp types with my standard setup. Most of it involves just knowing where to be, always watching the radar and listening for sounds... LP can be more espionage-like than Metal Gear sometimes.
Umm, yes it is. The game was released with some issues, which were never resolved. These issues stemmed from both multiplayer versus balancing as well as actual glitches within the game (such as the infamous, widely-reported Leaderboard time glitch people were using to get NUMBER 1 noms).
They released a patch to the game, which took the bite out of campaign (which lots of hardcore players like myself disliked due to the decrease in difficulty) as well as "resolved" multiplayer versus issues. Unfortunately their patch made things worse, due to throwing the weapon balance off even further. Arguably, the best thing about that entire patch was the increased sprinting-speed, and not much else.
Outside of messing with the game, Capcom's utter negligence with the LP2 community has lead to the forums becoming ghost-towns.
I see where you're coming from, but I'm still not sure the balance is blatantly one-sided. I've beaten a lot of people with my layout, which is completely standardized. The only remotely exotic weapons I am using are the normal hand cannon and the normal plasma rifle (in lieu of a standard rifle or rocket launcher). I've been successful with my old LPC style of play, but... the PC community is still so small and new, and I don't get to test myself often enough against the more deviant layouts. People are still scratching their heads when they get stunned with regular plasma grenades and one-shotted with the regular shotgun, and wondering why they can't win with their VS grenades, much less the other non-standard ones, which do so well for them in campaign (lol).
I tend to think way more people quit because they never understood the animation penalties and invulnerability frames, which leads them to blame almost everything on lag. The current game content is pretty well-rounded, man... I doubt people left because they weren't getting even more DLC, although the leaderboard glitch is sad. Isn't it true that hardly anyone bothered to buy the map pack on PSN and Live, anyways? But I could be wrong. Hope no one at Capcom loses faith in their design choices, and decides to make LP3 a much floatier experience that's hard to distinguish from Transformers, Lead & Gold, or Gears of War. That would be awful...
People quit because of annoying issues within the game that were never resolved. Namely, the balancing issues and glitches that were never resolved.
I personally left because all I had unlocked everything, beaten the campaign on all difficulties, even going so far as to solo extreme mode. All that was left was getting "Overlord" multiplayer rank, which meant having to play way too many Ranked matches. And the way the broken-ass promotion system is set up, I'd end up teetering back and forth between the last couple of ranks I needed for Overlord. I got sick of constantly being stuck in teams of random players due to the lack of ability to invite friends to Ranked mode, and subsequently being stuck playing the same 3 ****ing maps every time. It's basically an endless loop of Cube, Great Outdoors, and Thunderpeal Precipe.
Don't see the need for a Colonies Edition as a Disc, DLC sure (BF:BC2 Vietnam comes to mind), but not a disc.
Honestly if we could just get an update or two, a good majority of the community will stop complaining and there would be no reason for a Colonies Edition.

My MegaMan preference for MVC3 would had been Starforce, but yeah sure, I'll jump on this bandwagon, if X does indeed get in as DLC, there better be gamers playing as him or else this would had been a waste of time and missed opportunity for another Capcom Character...

I can honestly say that was my most second played map, The Jungle being first, Frozen Wasteland being second and Cube being third.
