LOST PLANET 2 Multiplayer DEMO Personal observations

Finally the september released demo is out. Played the last day. It was a lot of fun.

My observations:

1 Lost Planet 2 has too much light in graphics, they are so shining that it is disturbing. I still prefer the old Lost Planet EC graphics that are more cool. The first Lost PLanet design was like real anime drawings are, very soft and with very cool color palette, I dont really understand why the new team opted for a new Resident EVil look alike. I mean th ewhole beauty of Lost Planet was that it was made in complete Anime style. (Keep the old designer, he was already perfect ).

2 The characters size seems to be too much oversized ( if compared to a perfectly shaped size ratio of the original first Lost PLanet ), and it is not so easy to move around and see fast enemies. Maybe Capcom can downsize the new characters to the regular size as it was perfectly done in LP EC ?

3 The aiming was distorted to the right, while th echarcter was positioned too far on the left from the screen center, if you are not a left handed person this is a major annoyance for successeful gameplay, it is not easy to aim and shoot precisely. Lets hope it is just a bug.

4 The graphic interface of the multiplayer lobby room is made of distorted lines, I would kindly ask Capcom to stop experimenting with groovy graphics, and make a regular multiplayer lobby room made of square lines as it was perfectly done in LP EC.

5 Another observation for Capcom multiplayer, maybe they will make an automatic link for ingaming multiplayer headset chat in order to link all the same squad mates headsets, in orde to be able all to communicate during battle. The first Lost Planet doesnt have a smart headset link between teammates, os it is very difficult to fight as a real squad team, you have to lose time by connecting manually.

6 And the last observation for the new LP2 is about the multiplayer pre game lobby room, it would be positive if they would make avaiable:

A - The possibility to choose how many players do you want in your game, from min to max allowed

B - The possibility to see your real connection speed in order to choose the best connection type

C - The possibility to choose what team color you choose and what kind of team skins are allowed

D - The possibility to choose what two personal weapons you prefer to use during the multiplayer game

E - The possibility to have a nandgun as the basic weapon with infinite ammo which is universal option

F - The possibility to kick out players from your own game lobby and during game replaced by boots.

G - The possibility to leave the game and return to the game lobby room if you dont like your squad.

H - The possibility to hear a bell sound when someone is joining your game and when the game is full and ready to start, if you are away form the screen, while waiting the complete number of the players to join your game.

I - Make an automatic game start when all players have joined the game and are ready, ( it often happened with "LP - EC" that some of games wont start right away even with all requested number of players , becouse the host player is away from the screen, while waiting for the players to gather )

Well, hopefully it is just a demo, and the final version of the game will be as good as the previous first game was. STill holding breath awaiting the hopefully successeful game even for the PS3. ( Not like the last time )

Cheers

The game is beautiful. So you prefer the bright white snow vs sun and shade? The wait time is minimual even when waiting for 4 people. The characters are the same size I dont see the issue there.

Yeah...the characters are the same size, the graphics looks amazing, and it's got an over the shoulder style camera, so it's going to be....you know....over your shoulder. The rest of the stuff you listed is either aesthetic or stuff that will be in the full game. Don't worry about it, it's just a demo, after all.Wink

Okay lets get this out of the Closet.

1. The only difference between the two in terms of overall design, is more detail and that some important objects glow to take your attention, for instance data-posts and guns, you can't really say its too bright as you've already played through a game that could give you 47 seizures.

2. The character size is the same just a different camera perspective, and if you can't move the camera fast enough, either use quickturn, or go to your options and rack up the camera speed.

3.  It's a different camera angle, you'll also be able to choose which side your character holds the gun.

4. It's still in developement, you can't flame them for trying different designs, now if it's in the full game and they use one you don't like, then talk about it, the game is still under developement.

5. Okay, I don't really know anything about that...

6. A - Already set

  B - Not sure.

c - Not sure if they are going to let you choose the team, but it would be good, they are not going to ban skins, they change your thermal ring color, like on the tanks and if you have it lined on your clothes.

D - Already Set

E - Not sure.

F - Been a looooooong debate over that, still waiting response from Dev's

G - Not Sure

H - That's a cool concept.

I - Not to sure, best to keep that optional by host decision.

Yeah, they are really put work into the ps3 version and there is going to be a lot of fixes between the demo and the real game.

So yeah hoped that solved some stuff, while you did bring up some good ideas. Wow this is a long post response...Yell

First of all, please stop talking about the graphics of Lost Planet 2! They are perfect! Everybody whom I played with has said that and I played with a lots of lots of lots of people!

The characters have the ideal size for this new Lost planet!... The only think i have to admit to are the explosions. They could be a bit more polished like the rest of the game! The explosions seem kind of blurry and that's it. BUT PLEASE KEEP THE SIZE of those beautiful BOOMBOOMS!! haha

The new glossy environment is epic!! It gives you the feel that you are in the actual game and that is what it is all about.IT makes you play this demo over and over again! Like I, and many other LP2 supporters have done!.
Do not understand me wrong; your criticism is of great value to the LP2 community  but please do not give Capcom and any false statements about their gorgeous looking game.

And now about that the whole interface multiplayer thing, I would have to agree on  that. They could go with the more stable standard ones! But then otherwise, please Capcom; keep experimenting with it. It seems to work for the rest of the GAME!!!!! Good work!!! Guys!!!!

WE LOVE IT!!!.

Eh, I'd also like an option to go back to LP1's camera position that puts your characters right in the center of the screen.

The textures are all glossy and certain effects are highly pixelated which makes for.... a lot of jaggies on the PS3 version. The explosions are small and blurry on the PS3 as well, but they look nice on the 360. The flashlight is useless on the PS3 version, all it does is make the end of your gun shine.

As for lobby options and such.... I'd wait for the final product or even the multiplayer demo to pass judgement on that.

Thats right. I was thinking about it, in terms of reverse compatibility. If CAPCOM is willing to experiment with some new options and ideas, they can also make avaiable the option to allow decide for a gamer to switch to the old styled graphics, or camera nagles, or the charcter centered position. Or whatewer people liked so much in the first original Lost Planet.

If there are plenty of people happy with the new looks and and game engine of the sequel, its always a good thing.

I just want to remind to the honorable people posting here and to the new honorable producer of Lost PLanet 2, that the first game was so popular even becosue it was created in th ereal manga / anime style.

If the new game looks like the Resident EVil 5 concerning glossy and more heavy crafted characters, it leaves me asking why, Lost Planet had allready a sucesseful design that belongs to a certain popular genre of Japanese culture that has many folowers.

HOnestly if they wanted anotehr Resident EVil, they could have developed a differnet game still based on Lost Planet franchise. ( but this is just a private discussion between manga / anime lovers)

Im just advising the very honorable Capcom do not forget that imposing new different things to people who enjoyed the original features, without leaving the possibility to choose to switch back to old standards is a little bit irrational.

It remebers me about certain mothers who annoy their children to eat more fruits and vegetables and less candy sweets, forgetting to explain exactly why it is better by logic, and not just commanding them like like slaves.

If you know what I mean. ( unfortunately the whole popular Japanese culture is based on overall discipline and blind obedience to the superior human in command ) and despite the japanese games all look technologically superior in technology, americna nad european games developers are more centered to really listen what gamers are asking if their requests are rationally explained.

I mean the modern technology allows this kind of things. I wouldnt spend time in discussing the new features of prefious consoles, becosue there was not enough power allowing to choose any possible option for the user. ANd every feature wa sgibven as it is without th ephysical power to make nay changes at will.

I have nothing against other peoples different tastes and personal concepts of beauty in any deviated forms. I am just discussing rationally about the status quo for any succeseful game thta will allow to make satisfied every gamer.

I would like to add, that rationally every option of the game is alwasy better to be choosen by the user. MY concern is mainly about these features being avaiable in the game.

Yes, I am hoping as every other PS3 user that Capcom will not leave us down as they unexplainable did with the firts Lost PLanet. We are tired of using XBOXes or PCs, otherwise we wouldnt be PS3 owners.

I mainly bring good ideas when logically it is evident that it is worth it, and I am glad to discuss whatever it i spossible if it is abput a game that me and many others like so much.

What are you talking about  please stop with that 360 fanboyism! IF you didnt knowtcie it the whole game is already being coded using these graphics settings! Theres now way"The explosions are small(WTF-BS) and blurry on the PS3 as well, but they look nice on the 360" what kind of BS IS THAT??? lol please don't try to start a gay little console war this is a serious thread so please verify your reasoning.  Like i said  everybody loves the new grahpics!!! this is 2009/2010 and not 07! stop crying and move on!!.

Look dude, as I said before, if you like the glossy heavy graphics, good for you. But not everybody are happy. Lost Planet general fan base is made basically from anime / manga fans. And we are not happy to lose one of the only two games avaiable on PS3 with that particular  graphic style.

I dont know hwo are you, and why you are referring to yourslef in pluralis majestatis, as "WE".

You starting getting annoying with childish cheerings about your beloved Resident Evil alike graphics.
