I have tried the game out in DX9, and after initial major slow down issues and some drivers clearing and reinstalling I now have DX9 one running nicely.
I can play the DX10 version as well but for some reason only a few resolutions are avaiable to me, and most of them are odd values. 640 x 480 is available, but 800 x 600 is not I get 848 x 468 or something equally as odd as this is the absolute maximum is will let me choose. DX9 lets me choose the ones I want, just not DX10.
Anyone else had this problem and know how I can get around it?
[EDIT]
Forgot to say, this is without doubt one of the coolest games I have played in a long time. The boss battles are amazing, I had one last night where a boss jumped at my mech just as I launched a missile, on impact it threw out a plume of smoke and fire that was stunning looking, and threw me across the screen, haven't had so much fun in ages. Thanks for the game, it stepped up what we can expect from gaming.

Daily bump. I realise there are other more pressing issues the Devs are working on, like crashes and stuff but if someone could let me know if this is a known issue or some wierd bug only I have would be grateful.
I have reinstalled Vista countless times, reinstalled the game and the demo countless times and still I can only choose maximum of 848 x 484 and get a wierd letterbox view so am forced to play the DX9 version only as I cannot stand such a low and odd resolution in DX10.
Does anyone have any idea what I can so to correct this.

try replacing the config file, just a shot in the dark not sure if it will work.. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\lost planet extreme condition\nativePC This is where the config file is located in winxp it's a little different in vista but if you can find your steam folder it should be in the same location after that.. http://members.shaw.ca/azteccomputers/default.cfgTry replacing it with this default one and see if that brings anything up for you.

Noticed a post yesterday with soeone wanting to reset resoutions and tried the default.cfg from that post, still the same unfortunately.

would it have anything to do with you have the BFG 8800 GTS 320 OC did you try the beta drivers?

Not sure if its related to GTS in DX10 mode in particular as I play World in Conflict at the minute as well, and have no problems with resolution selection. Very strange indeed.
I currently use 163.11 drivers as this fixed a few problems in WIC, and have tried all drivers up to that point, no difference. As I appear to be the only one getting this problem, and have had no mention of it in any of the reviews I have read either, there has got to be something I'm missing or doing that it doesn't like.
I will perform one more wipe of my PC just to make sure nothing odd is left.

I was playing the game at 1600 x 1200 until I reset the video options to default values, then the highest resolution I could get was 1280 x 720, which I believe is a widescreen resolution. My computer was really struggling at 1600 x 1200, so I wouldn't go back if I could. But I thought I'd mention the problem in case any developers are reading the forums.

Well yet another wipe and install of Vista and still no change. I have even tried editing the .ini file to 1024 x 768 and the game still drops it back and doesn't offer it as an option, and changes the .ini back. I even tried making the .ini read only and the game didn't change the .ini this time but still refused to let me use the resolutions.
I am now redownloading the game through steam in case its a problem with the download itself, deleted the old download completely.
Wierd thing I noticed is not only does the DX9 one offer more resolutions than the DX10 but the DX10 demo even differs slightly from the DX10 full version.
DX10 Demo Modes : 640x480 640x400 640x480 848x472 DX10 Full Game Modes: 640x360 640x400 640x480 848x478
DX9 gives me these options.
640x480 640x400 640x480 800x450 800x500 800x600 848x478 848x480 960x540 960x600 1024x576 1024x640 1024x768
Am completely clueless now as to why this is happening, I'll wait and see if the new download sorts it out. Can any devs let me know if this has been a problem before and a possible fix. If its not a common one, I guess it won't be looked into and I'll have to try and get steam to refund me :(

Was speaking to a friend in work and they have offered me a glimmer of hope. They suggested that the DX10 mode for some reason is only offering me widescreen format. The next one would be 1280 x 720 which is beyond my CRT's range. I'm waiting on a replacement TFT ( unfortunate collision with my floor) hopefully I'll get it this week and will know for sure then if this is the case.
[EDIT]
If this is the case, is there anything I can do to make it not only offer me Widescreen format? And if you happen to correct yours again Bad Santa would be so grateful if you ould explain how.

At last, after a day of downloading I now can select the resolution I want, redownloading the complete thing through steam sorted it. Never like Steam and this just adds one more reason not to.
[EDIT]
Ok this is getting really annoying now. Tried the DX10 demo because it has the performance test, and now I'm back to the same problem, messed up resolutions. I can no longer choose 1024 x 768 and I just did it like 2 minutes ago and changed nothing, just ran the demo.
[EDIT]
Right, fixed it again. Here's what I had to do in case anyone else gets problems with resolution like this.
1. Delete DX10 Demo. 2. Delete Local Files from Steam (make sure its backed up or you got another big download). 3. Deleted C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Appdata\Local\ and removed the capcom folder. 4. Ran a registry edit program and cleared everything. 5. Run the Steam Backup of Lost Planet
Not sure which bit actually fixed it, but I'm never installing the demo again just in case its doing something wierd.
