I can't wait for a full game to come out. I think the day full game comes out is the day I will get owned very very very badly by everyone who had it for a while :( There's a time of adjustment needed to learn the different maps for sure. But I think you'll be able to hold your own- most of us will. It's not like the mechanics will have drastically shifted, and the difference is only a month. Skills learned on Dilap and PF will be applicable elsewhere.

The people in america who havent played the demo shouldnt be a problem at all even on new maps considering the game does take some getting used to in the very beginning

Of course, when playing against the pre-order crew that runs around Dilapidation most nights What? You can play on that map in the demo? Darn GameStop... they aren't going to have those tokens until January 12th. Oh well. I'll get the hang of that map in the retail next Friday...
And I haven't been playing the multiplayer demo much recently... When the actual game comes out, I'll have to challenge some of these "best player nominees." It'd be cool to get some giant 8v8 battles with people from the forum...

I know Trick, Lucent85, and The Nubbin are all good. I myself average 4th place when I hook up with everyone for a 16-player Dilapidation round.

With this game, it's half pure skill, half knowing the map and weapons, and half where you spawn. And if you're doing teams, another half is your teammates.
Yes, I know that's 3~4 halves. ;)
The designers designed it that way. The balance is such that even if you don't have the best hand-eye coordination, you still have a chance if you at least know the ins and outs of the game. I think that may be one reason why it's going over so well with Japanese gamers. I just wonder what will happen when the game launches in the US and Europe and the Japnese players who have been almost totally alone online will suddenly have everyone in the US and Europe online with them. I guess once the patch comes out next week, it will at least make it much much easier to stick together (rematches and going back to host's lobby).
And I am working on a list of tips for multiplayer (from my own playing, with input from the guys and gals in the office), so you'll have some good reading to get you ready for the launch. :D

Yeah, I try. But Trick is really awesome in a VS and pretty **** good on foot, too. I usually just grab posts when it's safe and try not to jump in a crowd unless I have an EM Laser and fall from high places (on purpose) with a rocket launcher. I also try not to die a lot, which is why I keep a lot of points. Me and The Nubbin did some great teamwork the other night. I just remember him chasing some guy around some broken rock/building part at the bottom and I was like "keep chasing him and I'll run the opposite way and shoot him" (with a VS shotgun, no less) and it worked without me taking Nubbin down with him. I thought that was a great accomplishment right there.
