I have Vista Home Premium, upgraded NVidia drivers for my 8800 GTX from 158.18 to 160.03 as recommended by the Admin Lost, and the program continues to fail to load. I built this system specifically for Directx10 games so before I jump on the classaction lawsuit about a failed demo I downloaded for free, care to assist? ;)
System in my siggy (btw I would like to run in 1920x1200 if available):

(btw I would like to run in 1920x1600 if available): I don't think so. The monitor only does 1920 x 1200.

Ok, fixed. When you download these DLLs, make sure you UNZIP the 2nd file when you put it into the C:\Windows\system\ directory. xinput1_3.dlld3dx10_33.dllNot sure what exact solution would have worked, but those two files combined with the 160.03 drivers worked for me. Perf benchmarks (1280x720x32) --> Snow: 64, Cave: 45 Perf benchmarks (1920x1200x32) --> Snow: 29, Cave: 44 (strange reversal)

Actually, instead of doing it manually, it's much better to go to www.microsoft.com/directx and get the latest installer there, which will detect and install all the files you need. With the same installer, you can just run it periodically to get updates and such, so you're always up-to-date.

you can download the missing files, but a easy way is to just download the most current DX9 or DX10 Program[april 2007 being the most current]The game developers don't always add the lastest files, so when you try to open the game, you get the missing dll or what ever file is missing message. Its a demo,if you notice most full games will load the Direct X program, even though you have it,because most likely its not up to date. Some people stop the direct X or some other update, then not thinking, they reload the game, drivers, etc and it just keeps getting worse,so everybody keep your programs current and don't stop the download for a program, even if you all ready have it.Glad you fixed it. :)
