Hi,

What do you think the PC requirements will be? I've heard rumours of it being a "Vista only game", which may not bode well for some. I however already have vista and a Directx 10 GPU.

I know I will meet the requirements, I'm just curious as to what they may be.

They've stated elsewhere that it will also support DirectX9 so that WinXP folk won't be left in the dust. They've also stated that the game will feature true support for multicore processors, which is also quite nice.

You'll be well served with any multi-core CPU and a DX10 capable card (e.g. GeForce 8800).

If you've got quad core, even better.

If you've got gobs of RAM, even better, better. :)

The more you've got, the higher res you'll be able to run (up to 2550 x 1600) with the most bells and whistled turned on.

We'll announce the min requirements soon as well.

'Lost Planet' Demo Coming Next Month

Lost Planet is a sci-fi action shooter set within the merciless frozen tundra of a hostile planet, humans struggle for survival as conflicts arise between man, the surrounding indigenous creatures and the monstrous beings that have invaded. The PC demo will be the same 2-level single-player demo as the X360 version, and is expected about a month before the game's release.

Combining a gripping single player campaign and intense multiplayer modes with support for up to 16 players online, Lost Planet is an epic gaming masterpiece. Enormous world maps unfold as players battle hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions across vast snow fields and blazing volcanic areas either on foot or in armed, robotic Vital Suits.

The PC version will feature enhanced graphics and effects to optimize the realistic presentation and explosive action in the game, including better shadows and more detailed textures, as well as higher monitor resolutions. In addition, the game will include a new lobby interface that has been adapted for the system. Players will have the option to play either using a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad controller. Capcom will also partner with NVIDIA on their “The Way It’s Meant To Be Played” program to showcase the incredible gaming experience that consumers can expect with a PC equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics processors.

Lost Planet for PC is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and will be available in June for a suggested retail price of $39.99.

I do not believe that he requires everything this to play this game! It would be a lack of good census of its creators to demand of this form for PC! Clearly if you want magnificent graphs, I agree!

Pentiun 4 Dual Core 3.4Ghz
2 Gb RAM
GeForce 7800 CO 512 Megas

Great, I pass recommended. Funny how the ram requirements is double for vista. Yeah, vista is a real ram leecher. I hope they reduce the vista ram usage with the first service pack.

I would get 4GB, but apparently there's a bug that makes it only detect as 2.5GB, even if you have a 64bit CPU and OS. I'll stick to 2GB until they fix that.

The Vista Ultimate OS (which is what I run at home) uses 1GB by itself... soooo if you want 1GB to run the game, and 1GB to run your OS, 2GB is the number. We didn't really have a choice in the matter and no Vista/DX10 games will. :)

I wonder if my e6300 with 2gb ram and with my 8600GT will be able to run the game Dx10 smooth withou lag. I think this is the big question of all the 8600GT and 8600GTS does those entry DX10 card is able to play the DX10 game, because honestly its a waste of money if no, since the card can be beaten byb a 7600gt in dx9 game.

This is my PC and the result I got under windows XP.

core 2 due 4300 @ 2.5 GHZ
Radeon 1950 pro
2GB RAM @ 800MHZ
Gigabyte DS4 Motherboard

game setting:
Refresh rate @ 120hz
2x AA (Adaptive AA enabled)
4X Anisotropic (High quality AF enabled)
Catalyst AI @ standard

res: 1280*960 and Everything to the max: Average 22 snow:20 cave:24

at res 1024*768 and almost everything at the min the frame rate almost doubles and the game still looks nice. I need some testing to see what setting has the most effect in improving the performance. At around 30fps the game is playable so if I will aim for a min 30fps.
